Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Moonstone2.0 - 22-01-2012

As most of you know, MrsMoonstone and myself had a mental weekend trying to find a new car in 48 hours after our 1.6 failed it's mot.

So a couple of mental hours later a close escape out of bradford, we found a bargin for £500 with 12 months mot.

I was expecting it to be ragged...but its pretty much perfect...tear in the drivers seat cover and got the wheels balanced..drives like a dream and I never wanted a BMW but this is a sweet drive...

As my sister said: "its like a retired drug dealers car...nice!"

Edit: btw..forgot to say its a 318is (1993 Model! thats 19 years old!! took me a while to work that one out) 140bhp and i believe it has the m3 styling body Smile

oh..and its got an analouge clock...sweeeeeeeeeet!

Looks good, I loved mine even if it was a dog and slower than walking. They look really smart with some subtle tweaks too if you end up keeping it... Mine has an analogue clock too Big Grin

That is all

its so tempting! and sometimes inevitable Wink

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - THE_Liam - 22-01-2012

It's got the M3 skirts and spoiler, but normal bumpers Wink

Not bad cars these, lovely ride and handling, far better with a 6-pot though...

Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Jonny b - 22-01-2012

Get rid of the rims ASAP

Otherwise a nice car bargain

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - declantg - 22-01-2012

Im jealous.

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - MrsMoonstone - 22-01-2012

It's not my size of car but after my first outing in it today (Moonstone had chosen an excellent testng route Smile ) I absolutely love it! Pedals nice and close together, a lady's car (makes it kinda unsuitable for me, see photos above, but hey... Wink ). Very solid on the road except for occasional drifting attempts of the rear... Can't wait to have it down in York to play with for real! All in all, a good bargain that solved our immediate problem last weekend. And it'll be a doddle to get rid off when the time comes, family members have already expressed interest - sorted! Big Grin

Looks a good buy does that, I hope it serves you well Smile

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Hitchos - 22-01-2012

Nice find

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - hbomb1905 - 25-01-2012

Very nice, e36 and e39 we're BMW's best efforts imo!

Your moonstone rear axle looks a bit cambery though! eek!

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - smanfa - 25-01-2012

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Flynn - 25-01-2012

Shit that's sexy! The car above, not the shed in the first post Tongue Nah just kidding (sort of) always liked E36s because of the rectangular 90s look, but the 1.8 certainly isn't an appealing proposition and it probably drinks petrol like theres no tommorrow. But I agree with some subtle styling cues they can look incredibly sexy, ala Disco Stu's from .net.

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Moonstone2.0 - 25-01-2012

There is a tomorrow? Wish I could tell the car that...I think it just has the hots for the girls at the petrol station and makes me drive it there at any possible moment!

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Ian - 25-01-2012

Oof! Is that a 2002? Love them!

Think I might have just derailed your thread a little bit! Sorry.............

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Niall - 25-01-2012

I don't like bmw's. In fact I don't like most german cars but f*ck me some of them old bmw's are sexy as. Not the 8series though. Never did see the appeal to them

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Moonstone2.0 - 25-01-2012

great..now my car looks crap...yeah..its not vintage...but its a hell of a fun ride Tongue

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - THE_Liam - 25-01-2012

I know a bloke with a 350i E36...

Started as a 320i, then became a 328i, then he found a 750iL V12 in a scrapyard and got a daft idea, 300 bhp and 330 lb ft lol

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Jacko - 25-01-2012

Nice looking Beemer! the paintwork looks quite good for a 19 year old car Result! Big Grin

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Pete - 25-01-2012

Nice buy, E36's go for bugger all nowadays! Am I right in thinking the IS's came with M-tech suspention/LSD?

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Foxy-jim - 25-01-2012

Looks decent! A bit of lowerage and some dishes and it will look spot on!

Think im going to get an old beamer next!

Re: Weekend Bargin (Warning: BMW content!) - Poodle - 25-01-2012

Fella used to come into work (petty station) with an 850 he'd sent to the M-division along with "a few grand" a few years back, damn that thing was fine...

Sorry to completely destroy your thread but I think it will inspire you and ultimately improve your quality of life so I have decided it is worth it Tongue

A quick google proves that e36 and e39 are the best!! Although I do love most BMW's pre-2002ish
