I really need to get the waxoyl out on my arches while its still warm.
Cracking progress here. What underseal did you use and how did you find working with it?
I got brush on stuff...but find I have to heat it up and its messy...so used spray can for the arches...was much easier
Looks a tidy job that, as ever.

I think you can get a kit with a hand pump, spray gun and everything else you need from waxoyl for about £70, dad was waving one about the other day.
yeah but I got 3cans for £15. and a 1L tub for 7quid from me motor factors.
that'll do all I needz!!

I dont think it was even that much (ive got the massive drum and a trigger spray)
well its worthwhile for you dumdum...with needing to do a car a month.. but for me, doing one car...70quid is bit too much!
Lol too funny!

Was it actual waxoyl stuff you used?
yeah. think so anyway....just checking ..yup!

fyi: its good for keeping ya skin waterproof too!!!
Haha, bitch to get off your mitts is it?

Smile Smile Smile

So, thats wishbones on with polybushes...bloody el that was a fight, front all undersealed, offside undersealed, bigger XUD fuel lines, lagged and fitted, and the NON abs brake lines half plumbed in, positioned up.

Started chucking it down, so inside now.

Any tips on removing top engine mount??? Chisel and hammer to get it started?? Got nice new OEM one to go on!
Next is the engine mount, GTI arb, PAS rack, GTi M/C, suspension build up, ball joints, AUX setup on the 2.1, drill out the broken engine mount bolt, and trial fit ready to tack up a mani to turbo pipe!
after a good chat with Mic at CG clutches, the Valeo clutch will be staying in there to get all systems going, then once happy, I will send my spare flywheel away to CG to have them build me a clutch to handle up to 500 ft lbs of torque...seems plenty!

Also with each step forward I seem to have to climb over a moutnain of issues.

Got A/C aux bracket fitted...now the alternator is wrong (managed to source a second hand one for not too much) and I need to source a 2.1 A/C pump as the one I have dont line up. (thus I have a nice shiny bosch alternator for sale now!)

I spent an hour drilling out the broken engine mount stud (thanks breakeryard) and found the cambelt cover needed cutting to accommodate the engine mount....thus leaving a gap that needs sorting.

Removed exhaust mani to remove egr blank and fit EGT sensor...cant find EGT sensor so need to sort out all me parts tonight!

On a better note...my dangly bits are painted...

Used some plastidip in a rattle can for the Eibach springs...pretty crap stuff. but meh, starting to get to the point where I dont care anymore.
Shes looking really good mate especially having seen it in the flesh, the attention to detail is amazing.
This is looking brilliant, absolutely chock full of science Smile

Again you should of come to FCS

Rather than explain things to people we just tell them it "has lots of science" or "needs more science"

waaaaaaay too hot for anything else
Too much shiny!!!!!!

Your red engine is gonna clash with your colour scheme now though
can you come round a paint all the rusty bits on my car please lol
And mine. I might advice driving it into an acid bath beforehand though.

Looks epic, I wish I had the space to do this to mine!
I know it will clash but with funds being well into the minus now and still needing a part or two I am grabbing what paint I can...

any suggestions on brake caliper and M/C colour? I was thinking yellow? Just to make 'colour clashing' a theme!
Has already been said but youve done an awesome job at this, looks really well!
Dude if you really want to go multi coloured Ive got most shades of hammerite you can borrow/use
