It'll pass. The attention to detail the car gets, it would be rude not to!
Fail on something silly like a sidelight that blows on the way to the test centre I reckon. Cant be any major fails!
Tax disc holder in window screen, or something so daft you don't think about it
tax disc came out as soon as I could!

All lights in order, gave the inside a good clean as it was filthy, good impressions and all that.
Also, topped up fluids, fitted a relay so the arduino comes on with ignition and removed the DRLs fuse, just to avoid arguing over it!!
Seem good lads there...they have a mk2 escort, landy, FTO, Beetle and other maad projects there, so into their modded stuff!

Only real concerns are the new o/s drivshaft spits out a little grease where the metal clip holds it on. So have wiped it all off for now. And then NEW gearbox shaft seals are leaking Angry So wiped that down too.

other than that, its all above board...so should be fine Undecided

oh, I will be reducing max fuel and setting a throttle stop tomorrow just for protection!! lol

In other news.....I want more boost. So if MOT is fine...time to wind up the boost!
Some mot prep...

Throttle stop "adjustment"

Arduino battery secure...

Also turned fuel down half turn!!
A) You're still running the Arduino on a separate battery?
B) What is that abomination of wiring lol
C) If that battery has a small hole on it for a vent pipe (most do) then get it hooked up and outside the car. Some REALLY picky testers will fail you for that.

yes and yes. Dont like it, then come fix it!! It was all dark last minute wiring predyno when Ruan was here. 3 core wiring to the arduino in the front and a boost cable to the car battery to give common earth!! lol
Its not in charging circuit so wont give off gasses Smile

I will be searching for more permanent solution after MOT obviously...as I hate that thing in me boot! Any help is VERY welcome to do that! Smile
So remind me, is this because you was getting some form of interference when it was running of the main battery?
When I saw the pics of the voltage regs it looked like they had no caps or very tiny ones.
The circuit needs improving IMHO.
Yeah to both the above. Interference to signals when linked to car power supply.
Just small caps.
Power supply side needs improving for sure. Bit beyond my knowlege, spent some time reading about capacitors and just drowned!

So...MOT man just rang me.........

It's passed then.

You'd be having a whinge if it didn't. lol
come on i hate cliffhangers at the best of times
I'm betting it failed on the battery not being secure and a loose connection (jump cable).
Fail on emissions due to blocked raccoon filter.

Wrong colour.

Must be a ringer.
Moonstone is always silver on the logbook lol.
Well done.

Major CBA to run through 69 (lolz) pages... what the Arduino running?
Yes arduino works.

MOT guys were well impressed!! lol

He said "technically I should fail it for no cat...but then I run a decat so meh" haha!!

They got some epic projects going so we had some banter and chatted...ideal, a local garage to make friends with. Handy!!
Yeah but it works doing what??
VNT control
Ohhhhh ok comprends vous, thought it might be something a little more exciting.
Got to love a friendly mot tester!

Your MOT tester is your best friend.
Once they understand you do all the work and they do free retests, bringing it back is just costing them money.
Faults are pointed out and may be an advisory but more often not a fail.

You must have made a very good impression Inlove
Shiney engine bay and big turbo did the work for me!!

Arduino does do exciting stuff for me...makes boost. All the boost!!

Im a friendly mot tester Smile in fact all 3 of us in our garage are. Ive met some right arseholes in my time though.

Well done on the pass man. Always good to get a pass and a friendly garage.
Good work mate, you bringing her to christmas meet then?
Im in minehead this weekend.

In other news...
Still not sorted temp gauge, but oil light works only if you tap the dash so its obviously a poor connection. Must sort asap

Coolant hasnt gone down at all since doing the head which is a refreshing change!! lol

Tried advancing pump today a tad but it just clatters too much for my liking Undecided

Need some dedicated setup time with someone.
Oh and ordered some better quality shaft seals and some ASH silicone hose as the head to crank breather/oil drain hose is cracked and brittle and leaking. And Pug say they dont have any left.

Its time to stop the last two oil leaks!!
Clutch is slipping  Dodgy

Emailed CG.

Duno what to do tbh....not as in give up...but I have spent near £300 on this clutch, buying it and having CG refurb it.
