Your pump looks quite advanced, that'll be the source of the diesel knock....
as said...it was, so I retarded it a few degrees. may try more fuel and retard it a bit more.
need to get coolant system and aux system and boost piping done first
Photobucket vids dont work for me.
That oil pipe looks completely unsuitable, good job it went while you were on the drive! Should think your local hydraulics/hose place should be able to supply something to your spec.
got pipes on order now. full braided AN spec.
but for goodness sake. this bloody car.
I have 3 alternators spare coz I had to buy that many before I found one that fitted.
Now I have 3 BRAND NEW aux belts coz all the sizing is all over the place. 6pk1740 is listed for a 2.1 with ac n pas etc...waaaaay too long.
so went for a 306 1.9 listed with ac,6pk1440. waaaay took short.
so measured up, more than once, and it comes to 1565/1570.
ordered a 1570.....guess what. its tooooo short.
anyone want some cheap belts? contitech!
let me work out what belt i need for the 2.2 lol
lol! ok!
also have a 1148 but think ozone may want it...its done a few miles
Why not just take them back?
ECP.
they dont take back after 7days unless you really argue...then when I did...they somehow never received it.
the last one from ebay is being returned no problem.
should have just gone to local factors...got a 1600 in the end...£12 inc vat. I assumed they be £ra*e but lesson learned.
I had same problem with my old d turbo after i swapped the power steering pump in the end i ended up doing it in ecp car park as kept getting it wrong. Got there in the end tho kept swapping it every time fine. but that was there and then.
It's worth getting up a good working relationship with your local motor factors, i get lower-than-trade on most of my parts now. Just had the same issue with the 205, there were
8 different auxiliary belts listed for the car (of which i needed 3), i ended up trying all of them, guess how many fitted out of the eight? That's right, one. Worked it out between us in the end though, all at no further cost to me.
You're on the home straight mate, keep at it!
yeah.
I had better than trade discount with Apex in hereford...known them for 10yrs...but after moving I lost all that
so made a little progress today. spent the whole morning, from 8am-1pm ish stripping parts off the green turd. IE hubs, shafts, turbo, inlet, piping here and there, gti MC, gti ARB, mbc, etc etc. no wheels or hubs....so its sitting looking a bit sorry for itself
FOURTH bloddy belt lucky....6pk1600 in the end...i put that up so I can find it for future reference! anyway. got that sorted.
Not sure how you made yours fit dumdum, but the lower rad pipe, runs along chassis leg, was about 4inches too short. So, made one out of two and a lovely straight adapter.
popped a couple of Toms stickers on the struts...very happy, go on sweet.
Got rads in and fitted the two slimline fans...not wired in yet, but not panicking about that as I will just use original fan loom.
Then started the rather confusing job of mocking up the intercooler and its piping. turbo to intercooler is easy...but from inter to inlet is a bugger.
rekon i will tilt top of rad back a little so they sit at slight angle and run a pipe over top of rad. Can run the oil cooler pipes that way too then.
Any...another very long hot day...so quickly mocked up some front end parts to inspire me to get up early again and crack on......
(more pics to follow)
I I think i used a bastardised XUD9 aux set up if im honest but i dont remember.
Coolant pipe just fitted IIRC.
want it??
car will be scrapped monday...entire super comfy xtdt interior is free if you come get it!!

I had a ph1 xud pipe, ph2 xud pipe and ph3 TU pipe...none fitted. till i cut two to make one!!
still touches the chassis leg...but with almost solid bottom mount, cant see it going far
I would love to man thanks for the offer, however I have no space to put it, and with the brolo's dead car on the drive I cant justify holding more peugeot gear.
Appreciate the offer though !
some pics at last now photoholeinbucket has sorted itself out...
the poor green turd:
the 2.1 engine bay with boost pipe/front end/strut brace mock up...
table of parts....carboot ala pug and piggy
anyone say my axle stand werent good enough...try these...
and how the 2.1 moonshine is looking...
...nothing bolted in...just resting there to give me motivation to get up and going again tomorrow, depsite pain from my stomach starting again
spot the masked lights...done meself...not black though
Looking good should be an epic Car when it's done, keep up the good work!
This is some top work chap. So is this going to be at coombe on the 14th?

either that or I walk
Great progress here fella. I know I've said it before but great attention to detail
Reckon you'll be getting it to shows next year?
Be castle combe on the 14th this month.
then one or two next year yeah
Awesome! Bet you'll be like a kid at Christmas driving it properly when its finished!
after that first drive you'll be grinning like a Cheshire cat. Real tidy install, looking forward to seeing it in the metal on the 14th
All that shiney but black boost hoses? I'm shocked James haha
its shiney coz its clean. not coz I want everything to be chrome.
I have a couple of blue connectors but I want to keep it a balance of shiney and OEM. meant to have an element of sleeper remember
little milestones today.
finished the underside and rear suspension and rear brakes...so all suspension, brakes and undersealing and exhaust all done.
just need to give front calipers a lick of paint.
also made my battery box:
just a little fixing bracket needed to stop it moving
and heres the underside with it all undersealed, dampers on inc toms stickers, new powerflex bump stops...serious swines to get in...
fitted exhaust and spare wheel too now.
other parts of day spent continuing mocking up and cutting/shaping bits for intercooler piping...
piping all sorted, just needs the intercooler brackets to be made and it can be plumbed in.
leaves tidy gap too for oil cooler...hoping pipes arrive tomorrow letting me finish it all properly.
then its just oil breather and airfilter and fit up front end
oh yeah, wire in sensors...but got all the wiring and boost pipe all through bulkhead today too.
Bit of a fail....the strut brace properly fouls the M/C. Like if I bolt it down it will break the M/C!
The strut brace I have is the DT type, that goes around the TMIC on the 1.9s...does anyone know clearances the normal strut braces have???
Woah woah woah, hold the press... You've done all this work, all that time.. And put it in a 5dr manstone?!
