Full Version: Heated Rear Screen Draining Battery

Hi All,

Just signed up and unfortunately my first post relates to a fault!

I bought a 306 P3 HDi for the wife a few weeks ago. Already fixed the squeaky heater fan and several bulbs, but today it developed a new problem..

The heated rear screen button was staying illuminated even when the car was switched off and the doors locked. After some searching on google it seems that if the switch is not brightly lit then the rear screen is not on? However the screen was warm to the touch and remained warm even 30 minutes after switching the car off.

I pulled the switch out and checked about 20 minutes later and the screen was still warm. I've now pulled the fuse and the relay, but by this point the battery is now flat.

When testing with everything in place before the battery went flat I could hear the relay click.

Can't work out why the screen and switch are staying on when the engine & ignition are both off!?

Any ideas on what needs to be checked or changed would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Ben
