Why does the GTi6 have a metal fuel rail when the XSi has a plastic one?

They both take the same size pipes, injectors, fpr and they bolt on in the same place and have the same injector spacing so why the difference?
If your thinking about weight saving.... Just no there really is fack all difference.

Oh and they bolt to different places. Gti attaches to mani, and xsi attaches to block iirc
I think the plastic one looks nicer. Unless you polish the metal one for weight saving....
Plastic ones are neater, but metal ones look awesome painted. Plus you could drill a shit load of holes in it for weight saving

Have you managed to remove the FRP or is it corroded in place?

I have a plastic one here now.
Fpr is out iirc. I have a plastic one too. But prefer the gti ones
Dont think plastic ones fit do they?
Yeah but different mounting iirc.
you should of realised this befor. the other inlet i got has a good clean one on it
The plastic one I have has exactly the same mountings and fittings.
