Well when i had the HDi connected to my OBD adapter and torque pro on if you let off the throttle in any gear the MPG would shoot up to the max, suggested that it wasn't injecting any fuel where as on like very very light throttle it would bring the MPG down, I could change the settings and then see 100% if it was injecting anything

lower the car and refit the undertray if you haven't got one already.

Whats that got to do with emm pee gee?

Drag co-efficiency i'm guessing, less drag = better fuel consumption
Lol, if you're going that far poodle, you should tape up all the panel gaps around the front too....and the whistly wing mirror caps.... Tongue

Yup, it was last week btw......the temp gauge actually works on this, rather than the 306 one that sits in the sun on the wing mirror lol.

Haha, you're only jealous. Tongue
You may have 82mpg... But i've got 100,000,000 SPG! Smiles per gallon mofo! lol

I know. On that journey there was a hell of a lot more road rage than SPG!! Dodgy
Tom, I'm sorry, but your golf has news for you...
Haha............can't believe you actually just wasted some of your life 'shopping that! Tongue

For us PERV's yes...

For the DERV boys, MPG is pretty much the cornerstone of their entire existence.
I've had 60mpg from mine, as said, town driving completely ruins them though.

Didn't know about the coasting thing, although I'll still take it out of gear on one particular on the way home from uni, can coast for bloody miles!
Yeah, it's all to do with aerodynamics, I won't bore people by going into details, but the less air going under the car, the better.

Rofl

Tom, actually measure it yourself and i think you'll find that trip computers tend to err on the side of optimism....
im doing a granny drive this week, 62 litres in the tank and ive still got 3/4 left and ive done 256 miles....
**Yawn**

this thread still going
Poodle I was surprised how accurate the mpg calculator on the golf really is! It underreads by about 1mpg on every tankful....I did take a pic today of my fuel recipt and the dash to prove this but I'm sure you're not that interested so I won't bother putting it up lol.

Plus I completely agree with Chris.....people buy diesels for one reason only and that's mpg! If I wasn't worried about mpg, I'd have bought a petrol!

'zactly what i was thinking... but then, i thought, Tom's here. Gunna be a long one...

ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz
Fair enough, i take it back. 82.1 just seems so unlikely, you must have the patience of a saint to drive like that. That said, you're still here, so guess we already knew that. lol

Petrol turbo..............revs, bwarp AND boost.............

I'd imagine Darrens gonna say the tuning potential of diesel over petrol...........but thats OK for people like himself............not so useful for average people that can't just fabricate things. You have to wonder why they don't just make faster standard diesels from the factory tbh.

I can't really see any reason other than mpg to own a diesel........well I suppose also the cheap tax on mine, but not on a DT!

430 bhp / 500 Nm enough for ya?

Stage 8 on my Petrol Saab Makeup

This for newer dervs, potential for veg on older ones.....

But the point of veg is cheap fuel...........which is the same argument as lots of mpg lol.....
has toms account been hacked by Flynn ?

Maybe I always was Flynn. Confused

But more than likely not.
