Have to say, the MX5 rims are far nicer than the RX8.
Is this a common conversion? Thought you could get big power from some of the engines in that shape MX5?
I've not yet seen a car with this conversion carried out. A bloke started it in the USA but never finished it. Relatively straight forward.
Unfortunately my wheels don't match back to front of you look carefully
oh yeh theyre different. weird. Are they like that from the factory? Should be interesting!
No, the cars a cat c and my dad couldn't find 20th anniversary wheels to match.
I know there's at least one in the UK finished because he was asking us for setup help when we put the engine in the back of the racer years ago.
There's a chap from near Bristol I've been put on contact with for tips with the wiring and he's completed the conversion already. Maybe same person? Car did go racing but it was on standard rx8 management

This was a road car on Microtech. I think I've still got his email somewhere.
Make sure you run uprated coils and decent leads on the thing though, first port of call.
edit: Looks like someone has already converted the coils and leads.
Yep luckily it's got d585's and magnecor leads on already. Coils are life time warranty, leads have done 40k so probably replace them. Engine was rebuilt by hayward rotary, warranty on that as well
