[attachment=31307]Hi all, just wondered if anyone has had the issue of catcam 109's hitting the oil spray bar. Huh  Any advise would be appreciated!!
Thanks in advance
how badly?

if its just brushing them, you can squeeze the spray bar into an oval shape, take care you don't crack the plastic bits.

if the base circle is a lot too big then you'll need to remove and block them up.
Picture added! The lobe only just rubs the spray bar but squashing it sounds a good idea. I never thought of that. Idea Im more concerned about the plastic end piece, could i just remove this and weld the end up?
What else have you done to fit the cams? Intrigued as have a set of 110’s at home planned for my engine

Id heard of people having pistons machined but that sounded too close for comfort so i brought the wossner high compression piston set and had my conrod small ends machined to accept a bush. Other than that nowt. Not sure on the spec of your cams but i think i get 2mm lift on the inlet at tdc and 1.4mm exhaust. I checked my clearances and had plenty. Get them in!  Rofl
have you confirmed the dome size and cutout depths and also the radius of the cutouts align with the centreline of the valve guides?

I have seen those pistons be wildly out of spec, giving an engine almost enough compression to run diesel...

and the dome touching the head.

and the valves rubbing the side of the valve cutout...

og yeah and you do need different valve springs.
Anyone got any "helpfull" advise about the thread topic!?
you had the answer for the spray bars in the first reply.

blindly throwing cams in rarely ends well.
My current engine has the bars removed and blocked off
i just removed the plastic cap when i fitted my newman cams, all good so far no issues
wont the oil be pissing out the end rather than through the little holes Stef?

My cam is brand new, will this be ok to break the cam in? Just block the spraybar inlet with something suitable?

oh! fair enough, I wonder if its just so the cam cover pushes it down into place.
