Hi guys;

I'm preparing my Hdi for a Stage 2 and recently fitted a intercooler with a pair of those 12" chinese slim fans rated at 80W (the OEM's have 120W as I could look)

This week I went out to test them and see the water temperature increasing easily over 105º, stopped the car and see the fans giving insufficient amount of air in the lower speed.

Searching on internet looks like the lower and fast speed are controled by the ECU, So is there another way to turn on the fast speed earlier "automatically"?  Lower speed looks useless now
Checked they are rotating in the correct direction?

Second this have fallen victim to this myself  Rofl
oem fans are more like 150w each and have a nice cowling to duct the air in.

however when driving along the coolant should not rise above thermostat temperature

I was sure, but checked this morning to be 101% sure

There are those ones with the "embossing" option (no spam) http://fmic.eu/wentylatory/458-plaski-we...or-16.html

Maybe bought the wrong ones?

120W says servicebox [Image: nusenuse.gif]  https://i.imgur.com/C8ZCiIF.png

The "sudden" peak of 105º was going up by mountain road behind a slow car. Nothing heavy.

Today I checked it and once reached 97-100º and fan starts working is not capable to cool down to 90º parked and at idle.
how close to the rad is the fan?
Very strange my 306 altho not stage 2 is running no fans and while driving sits around 80/85 and when im giving the old girl death will sit at 90 maybe 95 at most if its up a very steep hill.
Dont even run fans on mine and its a very coaly stage 3. Found the temprature peaks around 90 in traffic but thats the worst its been

Directly fitted over the AirCon radiator

Maybe the 28-30º degrees outside make a difference, I don't now. In the daily use I don´t drive more than 15-20km, so I cannot test it more often, but prior to installing the intercooler I have never had overtemp issues (I own it for a year now)

I think I'm gonna try to make a bridge in the black control relay to work always in parallel at full speed.
probably wise to try some decent fans, you can find ones that size on AC units made by Spal if you dont want to buy new.

also fitting a smaller intercooler will help, you dont need one that big.

Purchases are already made and installed, so if possible I will not change anything. To throw silly money I have a 205 1.9 [Image: qmeparto.gif]

Looking for the fan operation I found this wonderful link: http://www.peugeotlogic.com/workshop/wsh...fanop1.htm

And I think I have found the way to work always at high speed:

"Change over relay" out and permanent earth to the left motor, and the "right fan relay" out and take a bridge from the Left Motor.

Still don't know if I will need any bigger fuses, and I suppose I will cancel the "auto ON" mode for the fans when I connect the A/C (actually not working, need to found a big leak under the dashboard). But but for this problem I will look for a solution when the A/C is working.

Maybe also made some plates to redirect the fans airflow, as I have throw to the trash the original big plastic cover.
