So I get we all love our pugs, but is everyone here all about the engine mods and restoring or are people interested in more in the interiors too? I'm a vehicle audio tech so my first project apart from making sure real was road legal for day to day use was getting all the electronics and audio up to scratch, let me hear your reasons, was it advice, ideas or general support with an ongoing project of just to share your love for these wonderful little beasts
I'm here to laugh at dum-Dum's 'projects'

And also the odd bit of XUD knowledge
Everything really but the 306 specific guides are gold.
just the porn!
Wanted to buy a car about 4 years ago. Never left

The community on here and the social aspects of meets is great.
initially, to cover 'issues arising', but now reading the projects, esp the resto's, the banter & general Kamaraden figure highly too.

true dat. I owe 100% of my endeavours to 306oc. Then again... 100% of nothing is still nothing!
First of all, welcome as see it's your first post. Good to have anothe member in the South West. Can we see some pics of your car n what you've done so far? Also, it would be good to know a little about what got you in to these 'fantastic beasts'. (Good description btw).

For me it's about a shared passion, the technical stuff (yea, I'm a bit of a geek) n the banter. Keeping an older vehicle on the road is a lot easier n more rewarding with the backup of great group like this.
Yeh when we go to shows and meets everyone is super friendly. Its a great community to be in despite numbers falling in recent years reflecting the popularity of the 306 itself. The fact people are still on here who havent owned a 306 for years or those who keep rebuying them is testament to the club and how great it is.
Bash told me to join for the advice mostly...but I've never owned a 306...
i got lost and they took me in Big Grin

Mighty306 cheers for the welcome I have to be honest I owe it to my misses for my love of the 306 (and her nan) who was left a 1.9 306 xrd with the perkins engine  when her nan passed away, 2 owner from new her (nan and my misses) and by the time we took it off the road owing to a failing head gasket and seriously restricted finances it had over 650,000 miles on the clock, and everything else was solid. From then on vowed I would own for for myself. Sadly again due to financial restrictions it took me a while to find the money for my license and then also further down the road to by my beautiful reah, but I have her she's mine and I wouldn't change her for the world. She is a 1.9td 3 dr engine is still standard but the pump and turbo have been tweeked for a little more grunt. I also have plans down the line for a top to front mount intercooler conversion and probably a k&n air intake. Me being me I love my music and I'm a vehicle audio tech so obviously first thing was first new stereo and new speakers and a temporary sub but I'm currently working through a custom boot build sub enclosure but as always need more money....

As for photos I will happily upload some from when I bought the car and take some more of the interior work that has been done so far a little later on.
Woah, 650k miles? I think that car might have broken a few records!

Looks like you've bagged yourself a good example there. Well done.
Mighty 306 that is definitely a statement I agree with she's just been through mot and had new rear drums and wheel bearings other than that only 3 minor advisories so I'm happy gotta go pick her up in a little bit so I'll be sire to get some more picture to upload then.
So update is in order me think, I spent the afternoon tinting... My first ever attempt and I'm chuffed will be sure to post up a couple of pics tomorrow in better light, I'm not gonna lie I'm no professional and I don't ever think I will be but for a first attempt it will do ?. In the mean time here's a few pics from the cleaning spree last week before reahs first ever meet with me at the wheel

Also a couple of dark shots.

Yea It seems they were rather few and far between which is surprising really considering how amazingly reliable the engine obviously was
