Can anyone recommend a good place for an engine tune local to me. I am in Tunbridge Wells. Changed Lambda and temperature sender,washed and oiled K&N, checked brakes for binding,pumped up tyres and changed oil........16mpg

Get the injectors serviced. Plug into it and do some diagnostics.

Yeah this, get it on the diag something is clearly wrong unless you have a lead foot everywhere

Any idea of somebody near me who knows these cars? I went in the local garage and they did not fancy it. Said it must be the MAF!
