Right going to be swapping the head on my xsi fairly soon,
So putting together a little list of parts I need to get so far I have

New head
Head gasket (do I need a kit or just a gasket?)
Cambelt
Waterpump

Thought while it's off I may aswell fit the gti mani
So that aswell

Gti manifold
Heat wrap
Exhaust fitting kit
New stud/nuts
Exhaust gasket

Is there anything im missing?
Don't need new studs for the exhaust manifold.
It will probably be worth doing the valve guide seals on the head whist it's out. Sods law they will go a few k after fitting it!
Also need some new head bolts, oil (well can get away without a bottle of oil if your tight) and coolant.
I would recommend just getting a complete gasket set tbh. For how much it costs, at least you know it's done then!
If you want any help doing it, give us a shout. I've had plenty of practice! Haha
Head bolts.................might be handy when you come to put it back together ninja

Edit:- bugger, beaten by the seasoned expert in 1.8 head changes lol
Any links to gasket sets? Im looking an have no idea what's decent or crap.
Can it be done in a day do you think? I have the spare head sat at mine ready to go on
Can be done in a day providing it goes well. You could do what I've done and just fit quick release head bolts for super speedy head/seal changes lmao
Can someone link me to a head gasket kit, trying to find one on my phone is bein a pain in the backside
Anyone?
eBay mate. Or go to a engine rebuild specialist.
eBay have got me stumped. Nothing on there :/
