I may have to be replacing the clutch soon by taking the engine out, what is the benefit/disadvantage of blanking off the egr exhaust/inlet maifold joints and will it cause mot/engine damage issues??  thanks.

You dont have to take engine out to do clutch. Egr blank there are only. Benifits. Better mpg, less crap through your engine, sometimes improved performance if your egr was slightly stuck open. Easy to do as well
