306oc - Peugeot 306 Owners Club & Forum

With incumbent weather immediately preceding and following the show (literally on the way home) it was nice that it remained shorts and t-shirt worthy for the entirety of my meandering around the metal on show. Below are all the snaps I grabbed whilst on my rounds are by no means exhaustive as there was ALOT to see.

The clubs that turned out were mainly local "East Anglia" or "Suffolk" etc. based but there were a few nationals too, as well as an impressive un-affiliated selection of which the crème de la crème was a very low mileage Black Sierra RS500 that the guy had owned for 28 years. For some reason I didn't get a photo of it so you'll have to take my word on it's mintiness at face value.

Okay, so I have a "thing" for PT Cruisers. Especially with these modified elongated front grills (similar to how some people mod their Audis)

There was a lot of Minis... I'm not the biggest fan of Minis tbh so just grabbed a couple of generic shots.



Until I saw this one... this has gotta be the first original mini I actually thought cool enough to say "Yeah, I'd own that". No idea what the engine was, but it barely fit!

 


Big fan of VW Campers, from original Split Windows all the way up through the T4s and 5s.

This was one of only two Peugeots on show, the other being that rather marmite 405 estate in the following picture. TBF this 205 was absolutely mint. It's definitely had paint at some point because I mean the thing was factory fresh. Guess my point is it would've been nice to have gotten a 306 stand together to at least get a showing of Peugeots amongst what was predominately Fords and Vauxhalls.

I like big shiny carburettors











When I was young my Mum used to car share us to school with a friend down the road, that friend down the road had an original Fiat Panda, the backseats weren't seats. It was like a bar with cloth stretched over it. Epic car! She replaced it years later with a Cinquento and then a Seicento. We moved away after that how much you wanna bet she's got a Fiat 500 now?



May be a bit ASBO or "Essex" for some, but my passport does say place of birth: SOUTHEND ON SEA so I guess that might explain why I'm drawn to this. The Escort Cosworth is my absolute dream car, and unfortunately the prices are going up faster than my salary so it's always just out of my reach. This particular one was nothing much special, no full LUX leather interior, not big engine mods, but even a regular Escort Cosworth to me commands attention.

I really like the older square Alfas, and you never see them! Mainly because they've rusted to or fallen to pieces!







Never seen an R32 in any colour besides Black, Silver and that light Blue. This is a replica perhaps or was it a standard colour?

So whilst a good show, especially as it was free to get into and I took a packed lunch so literally spent £0, I couldn't quite shake the feeling that something was missing. As most shows are held at racing circuits and the best spectacle usually is watching / participating in some sort of track themed activity I think the void was the racing.

Would I recommend and would I attend next year?
I think if we can get a stand together, or as was suggested on the day go as individuals and then just park next to each other on show, I would definitely make sure the date was in my diary. Without a stand / club activity? I'd just see if I was busy that Sunday or not and make a call last minute.

ive spoken to that 205 owner. Its original paint i believe! We talked about rust and he said it wasnt perfect underneath!

1.6td in the VWs, water+oil cooled turbo with secondary electric pump, intercooler, bosch pump, engine code SB I believe

Decent pics there, was nice to meet another forum member as well!

I must've missed the green Escort Mexico somehow One of my favourite fast Fords tbh.

I didn't bother taking any pics, too many people in the way lol.
