So here's a conundrum that is potentially realistically possible for people. Say you have a really well equipped garage at home and plenty of engineering talent, you get a tax free bonus in the region of 20% of your current gross annual salary and can only spend it on building a really cool car, what do you build?

I reckon a brand new Peel P50 replica kit and the engine out of one of those 650cc mopeds could be hilarious.
Im boring AF id pay more of my morgauge off.
However plans are already in motion for a 240 with a t5/t6 engine in with ridonculous hp, so that but faster than i could on regular money
Erm.... I'd probably be able to afford a decent 306... With no change. So not much.
Bearing in mind it'd be something I'd be working on I'd probably go supercharged ZS with vvc engine and ported out head/coilovers/track spec so lightweight panels etc
20% salary increase? probably an evo or something.
Compound boosted s1 106 rallye with a 16v conversion
20% wouldn't be enough!

didn't you already have this?

I hear Vauxhall have some amazing deals on finance cars.. 1.4turbo yo!!!
Easy, one of these.....Alpina B6 3.5S (but ditch the M30 lump for an S50/S52). Oh, and finish my 205 rebuild.

OOH.

now that looks lovely, never heard of that particular variant before, must be rarer than an M, big six in an E30 Big Grin
20% would simply allow me to build around half of the 306 that I've always wanted to build.
Anyone can buy an Evo. Few could build something to beat one.

Anyway so very cool answers aside the financed Vauxhall/Ford stuff.

Id like to point out LS crate engines start at about £3500.
a mk2 escort
High boost the Rallye.
Send my spare Xu10 engine off to Sandy Brown
Twin turbo XU10J4RS or k20 in a 306/205
I'd low rider a Phaeton V10. Proper drop it low on some 20" Rotiforms.

Inlove
go for the W12 imo.. bentley engine is spectacular!
TB'd and modernised 240z. Although might need something closer to 200%. lol
Still got a thing about a Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am. It'd need some modern Snowflake wheels though and about a foot of lowering. The one Gas Monkey did looked bang on, but was spoilt by having their graphics instead of the proper Firebird.
At 20% a 306 that doesn't break monthly, although I'd love a 240z (cheers for setting me off again poddle, now I'm gonna be on eBay forever and a day)
505 4x4 dangle state for the kids!
