So as some of you know i rebuild axles. Been doing them for a few years now, not only do i enjoy doing them (sad i know) but enjoy hearing the storys. Id thought id comprise a list of the worst axles ive done. Feel free to add your own pics etc.

These are my top 5 and these had to have other parts used to make them useable again.

So cambered it had worn though the arch liners and was seized solid.

I should have taken a pic of the beam on my latest estate, had totally collapsed and seized in a similar position to Ben's, couldn't get either of the mount bolts out.

think its time mine had a rebuild

Starting to get some serious wear on the inside of my tyres

Only 5th... That's disappointing....

And I thought my old beam was bad, Ben's takes it to the next level.
I've a pic somewhere of a beam in a scrappy with 20mm spacers and it still wore the arch liner

I reckon the one on your old estate would have got a special mention for free play, i could move the trailing arm about 2" with one hand!

I'm offended to be so low, are you thinking of the beam you actually refurbished for me? Or that one that was still on my car?

my donor zx didn't have any more camber than it should have, but was seized enough for a shaft to come out of the arm!

Sian already had the award for most shagged rear end..

have you pulled my axle apart yet to see how bad it was?

I think mine takes the biscuit for worst handling, it was like I had rotating castors on the back of it. Jonny was managing to get the back end loose at 20mph throwing it around like a loon

Pah my hdi axle was way worse than that. Was rubbing paint off the arch at the slightest whiff of a corner. Threw it straight into a skip.

If we are having a compition here when i picked up my old blue esate a couple of years ago it had 10mm spacers on and was still scrapping the archs lol

Mine was the bad it looked like it was supposed to be jdm style hahahahaha

My car's been sat for 10 months facing downward on an incline. No camber as of yet but um yep I don't have great hopes for the beam I doubt it's had any maintenance ever at 51k miles
