I'd have thought you'd need more offset and bigger spacers for them to clear, but I'm sure I heard they'll fit under cyclones.

I have got some 30mm bolt on and 5mm slip ons at my disposal but the less the better. Is it poss with 15"?

15", even a 310mm renaultsport brembo goes under the right 15"s, namely 6" wide MO's with a 10mm spacer, and SL434's without spacers.
406 brembo/288mm discs go under a fair few others, many speedline aftermarket wheels, prorace wheels etc.

So if ive had to 20mm space for the hdi callipers now how much more do we think im looking at?
If its somthing mad may go for megan rs radial mounts and make the adapters up at work. Can help my cause a little by finding better offset disks

They will go behind clones with 20mm spacers.

So im gonna need 40mm spacers overall? Not really viable for me :/
Is there any other brake upgrades other then gti to fit under 15's?

Depends what you want from your brakes, as said already gti-6 brakes are fair decent setup spesh if you go for some decent pads - plenty of stopping power.
I've got similar sized willwoods 285mm only bonus being that pads can be slightly cheaper as they're fitted to a bunch of stuff.
As welshpug says, plenty of options if you go for different wheels. steels tend to have minimal clearance for brakes.

Sucks as really wasnt planning on new wheels
What can i do to get the most out of gti brakes?

brembo max discs
ferrodo ds2500s
braided lines
gti6 master cylinder
probably the best you can do. Im going to get the ds2500 pads but not the brembo discs as there are super expensive and seem hard to find.

Cheers fella. May still have a punt on these brembos if i can get them cheaper as can always make my money back on them
15-03-2016, 10:16 AM
carbon lorraine RC5 or RC6, get them in clio shape.
you gain very little in using a 406 brembo, you add 2 kilos of rotating mass!!

They'll go behind pro race 1.2's with the 288mm discs.
I have a set of black 15'' pro race's for sale

Ok so the big brake debate, brembos will indeed fit behind my wheels [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
So the test fit went as follows
20mm - not a chance!
30mm - minor scuffage
40mm - completley clear
Pictures show 30mm.
So going from this im gonna aim to fit 35mm spacers to sit these correctly behind the wheels. Considering these dont have sliders brake wear does not need considering.
My question is as follows. Is it possible to shave the highlighted area of the calliper 1/2mm? This is a worst case scenario if 35mm is not enough

35mm spacers....ouchy.

Currently on 20mm spacers so its a 15mm gain... feel sorry for my arches as more scaff pole abuse is on its way
Wheels are currently flush with stretched arches

I don't really understand why you are going to the trouble. Gti6 brakes with decent pads, braided lines and standard discs would be more than adequate.
You'd sell them for decent profit

See comments in your build thread justin.
Welshypug and ruan are being helpful, just you can't see it yet.
35mm spacers....not a good road to go down.
And as adam says...for basically no gain tbh over good gti6 setup

I used to have brembos behind 15x7 OZ magnesium wheels, ford WRC items, not very helpfull I know!
On the hole brembo vs GTI6 caliper debate, I sold my 4 pots in favour for GTI6 items, cheaper pads, easier to service/maintain, as WP says, the discs are lighter.

Atm for how much i paid for these these stand to be a cheaper setup for me then gti brakes (have come with new pads). Struggled to find some local in good nic, only ones about were in scrappys and over priced! Always loved brembos so want to give them a shot.
Can you advise me on some decent disks for them as heard several opinions for disks

Ive got RS Brembos on the 6. Do i need them? In all honesty no but they are an awesome brake and really do give a lot of confidence. Im fortunate though that there is bags on room under my wheels. If i was in your situation, like the others have said id stick with 6 brakes which are more than adequate and just use some decent quality discs and pads. Maybe rebuild the callipers as well.
