That is big progress on one of these, it took me about 4 months to get the injectors out of the 2.2 I had.

I must've been very lucky with changing the injectors in mine then haha

Is kind of how I felt.

The engine sat there on the stand for about a month coz I just kept putting it off!

Initially was going to be 2.2 so heavier than even thr 2.1 due to the 2.2 having balancer shafts!

But with the 8v block it shouldnt be too bad!

Fuel system will come later...
if the balancer shafts are like the EW12 then its very easy to get rid of them.
Yeah then its custom mounts and making a gearbox fit as the 8v hdi gearbox doesnt bolt on.
meh, just use the ml6c.
Or just bang the head on a 2.0 bottom end with 2.0 16v RHW pistons (which I reckon may not even be required as valve reliefs were removed on later engines - need someone to measure..) and be done?? That way everything just bolts together..

The extra 180cc just isn't worth it imho for the hassle.
Hopefully found some very good second hand bearings for this and a good price on rings...
Just need to sort a headset and things can make a move on...
Ironically all the shiney parts are in place... Yet lack the normal bits needed to fit it all together!
GSF stock VR Headgaskets and Headsets, make use of the 40% off they have most weekends (it would seem) and you can save a bit.
Got HG...

Need a headset. Will look into those 40% offers!
Lashing a set of ARP's into this? Does the 16v head not suffer badly from valve float at high boost/rpm
shoudlnt need to unless he's trying to slap some silly boost into it, its much more efficient than an 8v so will makegood power with less pressure.

This.

Darren suffered with it...but lets be honest... We know he likes the boost.

Parts updates will come with the videos soon.
some epic parts have arrived.... turbo is being sent to company for balancing after rebuild... general seals/gaskets etc here too... things starting to take shape...

Last video to catch up I think...

Couple other projects on the go and now trying to make up for 6 weeks not earning/working.

So please be patient :-)
I agree, I'd be more interested with pictures and a good write up over a video.
