Full Version: Brake light switch FIXED

Hello the brake light switch works on my spare 306 hdi. But when you pull the switch out more it clicks each time in to place. You then release the brake pedal so the switch a just to the pedal.

It works for a short time but the switch ends up going back a few mm to far. But if you hold the brake pedal back up foot underneath a few mm the brake light switch works.

So I'm thinking what's the best thing to do here with the switch working but this problem with it moving.

Thanks
Tape it.
Surely the 'lumps' on the switch have worn away so a replacement switch is the proper fix? Tape seems like a cheaper solution though lol.
Yeah just bang a new switch in. They're a bastard to get to and a new switch is less than a tenner. Had to do one on mine last year same issue.
Mine went christmas time past year. Proper horrible to get to. If you need to dismantle to bodge it, you might as well fit a new one.
So is there a good guide on here with pictures.

The switch needs changing for a new one for sure.
I drop the steering column when I do them and there not to bad to do. I did 1 at FCS last year for someone.
Yeah as frosty says. Best thing I to drop the colum. I also remove the right hand side air vent and gubbins as I've got small arms. I can get to it with both hands then.
You're not a real 306 owner until you do the brake light switch lmao

Couldn't agree more Smile
I've got massive hands and had to take the dash out... Never ever ever again

I'll find someone else to do it
I had to fist my dash. Was elbow deep in dashboard to get to it lmao

I managed to do the job with one hand changing the brake light switch. The size of arms makes a difference for sure.
Yeah doesn't take long to do, just a pita to get to
