Right drove to work today all ok. Jumped in to come home got to first round about. Car seemed to cut out then had no brakes. Pedal was hard and no travel to pedal at all. The brakes didn't feel.to be locked on or anything. Didn't have time to check anything over just had to jump in van to get back to pick kid up from school.

Any suggestions on what to check or if there's a way to test servo?
My money is on failed vac pump or more likely a split hose between the vac pump and servo. With the engine running, follow the vac hose with your hand and see if you can feel it sucking from anywhere.
If it isn't sucking is there any way to check vac pump? Pull pipe off and see if it's sucking when running?

More likely vac pump than servo?

Really can't be arsed changing servo. .. assuming vac pump on these is lime 2 bolts or so ?
Correct yeah pull the line off and see if it will suck
Vac pumps dont often fail but its possible. Its always best to start with the simple though which is to check the hose
The pipe to the vac pump could also have collapsed on itself, had this very issue on the HDi. Wink
Well went back to work jumped in and everything was OK. Checked it over. Vac pump working no leak so don't no. Slow drive home I think
