Thought i should make a thread seeing as it looks like its going to be hanging around for a while Smile

Purchased few months ago as a non runner for £400 but with the following good points:

- Tidy bodywork for age
- 9 months MOT
- New clutch
- gti6 interior
- new tyres

Aaaaaaand the following bad points of course lol

- Non runner
- N/S Door loom damaged
- O/S door check strap damaged
- Mark on front & rear bumper

So no time was wasted!.....

I lie, it sat in the carpark outside mine without even being looked at for 2 months lol   but then with winter approaching i decided to get it sorted. Dropped it off at my mates garage and anxiously awaited a big bill..

Received a call 2 days later.. "Alright mate, pugs done. ECU was knackered but i had a spare HDi in the yard so swapped it all over. £100 sound ok?" Big Grin

So now the car is fully functioning and only owes me £500! lol  Winner! Big Grin

Pressed it into daily service immediately

After a weeks loyal service, cracks started to show! whatever monkey had changed the clutch had left the gearbox earth strap finger tight so sometimes there was a phantom earthing issue that prevented starting.

Perks of my job though, "Send the truck boys im broke down at tescos" lol

Earthing issue fixed and all was plain sailing, untill the next day. Where a pensioner reversed into it in the shop car park Sad Not much damage but still annoying!

Felt bad so treated it too a full wash and polish Smile

What is that mark on the front bumper? Looks like bird shite but obviously isn't lol. Is it lacquer peel in a very specific odd area?

Correct me old chum! whole corner of bumper has been badly sprayed so i'll be replacing the front and rear bumpers once i get them sprayed up to match Smile
Ah fair enough then, not seen one peel there before! May've started with a stone chip though. Looks tidy otherwise! Smile
Looks really good for not much money at all!
Looks good man. Tidy as well. Always love a bargin.
Very tidy cheap daily, i havent felt sorry enough for my £400 HDi to wash it, i probably would if itd polish up like that
Looking good matt. Sort the bumpers and it will be a very tidy 306
Thanks all Smile

Fitted a decat pipe after work on friday then had the car stage 1+ mapped yesterday. Difference is night and day! Big Grin soo much nicer to drive now.

Think i shall be adding a small FMIC as and when time allows just to compliment the map. Need to sort a knocking beam mount first though!
Ive got a c5 boost pipe and inlet elbow for sale Wink just saying.
If i don't get any in at work i'll bare you in mind my man Wink already found an intercooler so just need pipework Smile

EDIT: forgot i also pinched the wind deflectors off the rallye and fitted those, along with mist washer jets over the weekend Smile little things but makes an improvement!
In an interesting turn of events this has found its way back to my ownership! Albeit in much worse condition than when it left lol

Will update more when i get my teeth into it but i couldnt see it be passed around like so many of them do so bought it back.

Things that need sorting:

Rear window smashed
Rear beam knackered
4 Tyres
Discs & pads all round
Wishbone balljoints (may just replace entire wishbones)
Smashed foglight & cracked front bumper
Interior rough

Then it just needs an MOT and maybe some more subtle modifications before i decide on keeping it or selling on again as i really have no need of it.
Make it your new daily Matt Tongue

Sounds like its been reglected, but easy enough fixes Smile
oh man read from the beginning. It looked great back in 2015! Shame to see it how it is now but stick some pictures up!

Trust me when you have a Megane RS DCi175 as a daily the appeal of a HDi just withers away lol I just didnt wanna see it go to waste.

It looked very good! Unfortunately its going to require some paint before it looks like that again which is the expensive bit! Sad

I have got all the mechanical bits to put it right at work fortunately which i can sell to myself for a good deal Wink
My bad haha I forgot you had the meg and though you were using the Landy for daily duties aha, dont blame you! Yeah exactly!
Well i popped round to Zakks yesterday eve, after a coffee and some routine GTi6 perving we moved all the other 306's out and got the Dturbo on the ramp for an inspection Smile

I am extremely happy that little to no rust at all was found! Some pics of the car and various bits requiring attention.

And the obligatory ramp shot

So with a good check over it appears to just be needing discs & pads all round, 4 new tyres, thorough service inc belts and some bodywork issues sorting! Not bad considering the abuse i know its been subjected too.

Exhaust was fixed with just two spare rubbers and only minimal play in the beam was found! Already got everything needed to fix it so its just a case of getting some free time at the same time as Zakk Smile

This will be what im bringing to FCS this year if all goes to plan.
