My hdi had the leek since before I bout it back Jan last year. It was a small leek getting 51-55 mpg but full engine coved in fuel iv found the 1 injector was blocked so I had all 4 referbed £100 each and iv changed the pipes linking them together. But leek still posits top and front engine dry but back of engine is saturated in diesel. Need help badly fuel gauge going down now even if I don't youse it. All the fuel lines at the top that you can see feel dry.
There arent any fuel lines at the back, it can only be engine oil there.

The lines are all visible so you should be able to see a leak if there is one, got any pictures?

Its probably the filler elbow on the tank if its leaking without driving.

Also it's leak unless theres vegetables all over your bay. Wink
It's not oil iv had all gaskets replaced and I'm not loosing engine or gear box oil. It's defiantly diesel it smells, looks and taste. I had the water pump changed Tuesday and garage told me I have a fuel leek also iv used quarter of a tank in 24 hours iv only been to nelson and back 14 mile. Every thing at the back of engine is sourced subframe, steering rack and so no. Can only see it from bottom I'll see if can get a pic in morning.
I found this on Google http://www.theywhoshallnotbenamed/forum/...02168.html dad thinks I should replace the fuel lines that come up to top of engine from the tack what are they like to change
Those lines are a single piece from the bulkhead to the tank, i think you'd need to drop the tank to change them. They're more the side than the back though and made of tough plastic so they shouldnt really break. I reckon you've got a leak at the front that is running down and under the back, have you changed the fuel filter recently?
*I've
*leak
*definitely
*worse

Put a bit of card board under the car when you park it at night, you'll be able to see where it's leaking from.
Make sure you've not bashed the fuel cooler underneath the car Smile
Fuel filter got change at last service I have noticed the container is a bit loose moves front to back at the bottom and the connectors are broken held on whit cable ties

Where about the cooler located. speed bumps are stupid at my mums I have to stager them like a stanced car and I'm not even lowered. iv got a sump garde from pugfest not had the time to fit it yet I think it's of a petrel need to modify it and make brackets

Check all around the fuel filter housing then, it's ok to be a bit loose as it just clips in but check underneath it, make sure the drain plug is tight and check the connectors underneath arent leaking.

The cooler in under the drivers seat area basically, you can't miss it.
Fuel filter dry all around it and udder as for the cooler it's wet but can't see any damage.
Follow the pipes from it if they're wet as well. If not, could be a small pinhole in the cooler from a stone or something.

Get someone to turn the ignition on while you look underneath, the lift pump priming the system should make enough pressure to show the leak.
