Ive wanted to do this for a while now, but only recently managed to find a Kart local enough and cheep enough to think YES go on then

so i hope it don't get shelved or i loose interest or just sell it cause this will i hope work well!

plans
to start with i want to get it running on battery's at a speed!
don't laugh! 10 MPH with foot throttle variable speed and reverse !

once i get this far the transmission will be right and working then an upgraded motor and speed controller for extra boost sorry SPEED!

so pictures as it stands now!

yesterday i made up the stands to get the kart off the ground so its at a good working hight so i dont feck my back bending over
You nutter, if you get it done, bring it to the next meet so we can all have a go up cheddar gorge or something. Bring cookies too

Andy
You'll break something when you get it up and working lol
Its already slammed so just bang some clones on and job done lol
Only if it was a scooter, yeah I've seen the video.
I have a nice 125 motocross engine that would go like a rocket with that in it
yes but with an engine you cant drive it on the road !

anyway here is a loose plan of action
for the drive i have a motor driven trans axle with built in diff
which I'm going to graft onto the existing axle
via 2 sets of chain and sprockets and the original kart axle is going to be cut and joined with a double bearing allowing the axle to turn sharper without skidding the tyres allowing the diff to work Wink
This could be epic! Needs that 125 engine whistle

so your making this road legal? does it fit in the back of the 'state?
box of electronics to graft on once the mechanical stuff is done

yes it just fits in the estate had to take the rear wheels off but it went in Wink
haha awesome, my mate had a quad bike that fitted in the back if you took the wheels off, that made an appearance at a few pug meeets haha

+1. In fact, f*ck that, +961 Smile
road legal Smile im sure it will only be road legal if it goes less than a certain speed i mayb wrong tho Smile
this is quite cool! i like it!! Big Grin
Can't wait to see this.
Oh it has wheels on it now then lol
This a an ace project. It will be cool to see what speeds you can get it to Big Grin

...downhill with the wind behind you..takes me back to my 50cc bike days lol
When I saw the title I thought you were getting one of these:

Knowing your history it'd be much safer and much more appropriate lol
^ Bit high of the ground though, could have stability issues, gravity doesn't need any more assistance lol

Looks like a fun project, hope it gets done Smile

125 crosser engine and the electric motor. hybrib me is thinking????
sorry petrol engine in a Kart its a bit well bolt in dont need to think about it!

dont you guys like a challenge?
going electric most if not all the mounts will have to be fabricated which means thinking and planning your route

i dont want to go down the ovious route but if the electric falls over i have that option too but its not one im planning on taking just yet !

Smile

or as for hybrid what about petrol gen-electric i have a 2.8KW gennie in the garage Big Grin
What you going to power it off of? Car battery?
power will be from 2 lead acid gell cells to start with so 24v with the first build
started to make up motor mounts
chain and sprocket quotes are in.....

£123.12p delivered or £69 delivered

so have ordered my kit from http://www.engineersmate.com/
So your providing the the "drift taxis" at FCS? Lol
ok so all my sprockets have turned up so have mocked up the drive
but ive run out of metal so need to go back to work to raid the scrap bin
