Sapnin' guys

Was looking for a bit of advice with gaining access to bottom turbo pipe on standard, non fmic'd engine...

Im getting a sucking/blowing noise, as mentioned in a previous thread, when coming off throttle with turbo spooled. Im thinking a pipe is not on tight enough...would i be right in guessing this?

If this is the case, i just wanted to know if i could get under the car and, easily (i know, wishful thinking), get access to the pipe and get the bugger checked over?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated Wink

John

its got me a little bit peeved and concerned :/
i wouldnt worry about the sucky side its the blowie side that needs sealing check the manifold bend wher the egr bolts they tend to blow from there spraying black gunk on the bulkhead
checked those last time and resealed the inlet with gasket and sealant, erg blanked at the same time, no tell tale signs of leaks but sounds like the leak is from drivers side Sad no noticeable power/boost loss but hard to tell with a slippy clutch :/

cheers for your input, thats put my mind at ease, what about the clip thats circled, doesn't look like its on properly???
clip looks ok to me
ok cheers mate, just looked a bit suspect to me Wink
is the click locked??

I have zoomed in but still not entirely sure the clip is locked?? does it rotate freely? if so then its loose.........if not then its locked
It looks loose/unclipped to me
i thought it did to me too, thats certainly not how i would have left it...f*cking mechanics! lol

Im gonna wait until the weekend before i have another look at it, its a right PITA to get to.
What is the pipe for, that the clip is on? Vac or oil...Confused?

Wastegate vac pipe?

If it is waste gate related, that might explain the sound I'm getting....?

what you saying Cully?

If the pipe going to waste gate leaks, does it keep it open or closed..or what? If it does/doesnt, will this be creating the noise i am hearing?
I can't answer your questions but I have the exact same problem, since changing my gasket and blanking the egr, I'll keep a eye on this to see if you find the fault
Did you ever solve this issue???
no mate, still got the sounds lol i haven't got the time to have a look at it either since the new arrival, car seems ok though although a tiny, weeny bit low on boost...could just be me though lol
Yeah mine seems to be a little down on power, but thats the least of my worries for now, need to get it back on the road doh
What's on the list of problems mate Wink mine seems to be endless Big Grin lol
Mines is now a CAT C car, need a few bits then new mot and vic test
