One for welshpug as I'm almost certain he has covered it before

Differences between zx rear beams compared to 306?

Was under the impression that the volcane models had different toe to 306, but maybe just limited to the 16v model?

If anyone has anything concrete, would be useful

Ta
zx all have zero toe and one degree of camber, 306 runs 3.5 ish of toe and 1.2 of camber from memory, xsara is the other extreme at 5mm toe!

I have a xsara vts/vtr complete rear axle to go on my 306 will it be much better? And wat am I likely to notice? Sorry for sound like a newbie but this is my first ever project lol
It will prob have 21mm torsion bars, think the trailing arms are slightly different
depends if vts or vtr, not the same

Yep I've got a vts one just heard back from the bloke!.

Thanks they worth owt? As I have a set from my volcane
they'll do somone who wants to get a beam off a base model and upgrade to standard sport spec beam.
What size torsion bars and arb does my Xsara vts axle have??
vts phase 1 axles had 24mm arb and 21mm torsion bars phase 2's had 23mm arbs and 21mm torsion bars

Early Phase 2's use 21 / 24 as well - or certainly the handful I've broken all have.
I stuck ZX arms on mine for the zero toe, was lively, to be honest, half the time I loved it, half the time I hated it - forever correcting the car on faster roads and motorways, it wandered all over the minute it touched anything larger than a cig paper.
weird, I don't find mine does that, at least I don't notice it! maybe I'm used to the 205 doing it Big Grin
Mine didn't have any rubber left anywhere in the suspension, probably didn't help matters Big Grin
ahh mine is on very recent o.e bushes everywhere, so firm but not solid.
ZX arms worked nicely on my old 205 with a solidly mounted beam, although from memory you end up with a little toe-in when using them on a 205 due to the differing arm angles compared to a ZX/306/Xsara. Pointy and keen to turn in, but not overly-nervous.

Kept a set of ZX arms in the garage "just in case" as I've never managed to get another 205 that's quite as fun to drive as that one was.
