Yes, yet another "what car" thread!
The missus is after a new car. Needs to be as economical and cheap to run as possible with a budget of no more than £2500. Wants to be relatively small (no bigger than a 306) and ideally 5 door but 3 door isn't too much of an issue.
She already has a 206cc which is a fairly nice car and i think she would be happy with a hatch back version. I was thinking getting a 1.4 HDi but what are they like? Speed really isn't an issue for her!
Cheers
Not the 207! Flipping weighs more than the moon!
Why not the later 206 with 2.0hdi? cheapertax.
I got one for my mrs. She aboslutely loves it.
Stg1/deegrd. Cheap to insure. Avg 56mpg mix driving.
And I secretly love it! So nice to drive.
306...
If she just wants something small and eco have you considered 107/C1/Aygo? If she likes 206s though, a diesel hatch version seems ideal...
Early mk5 golf, Polo TDI, Alfa 147?
Id personally go Polo. There's more to life than Peugeot.
Get a nice late 206 2.0 hdi eco, £30 tax, super box for epic mpg, stage 1 tune. Done
Polo or Golf would be a call or a Skoda Fabia? VRs maybe?

Sorry i should of said, what ever it is needs to be relatively safe as well so nothing like a 106/107 etc

Have had a look at Golfs but not found much decent within the price range unless she spends her max budget which if possible, we want to avoid. I did consider a polo but haven't had a look yet to see what you get for your money.
Cheers Jordan
She won't like the Ibiza i don't think. The polos do look good but i think she would be happier with something slightly older but better specced rather than newer but very basic.
Yes, she's very picky
Will you not get a 207cc for that money, you'd certainly get the hatch for that.

306 HDi.. ahahah
My cabby, it's ideal for her
206 hdi would be good. Could even get a newer fiesta with the 1.4 hdi pug lump in for that money. Again cheap tax. Five door. Overall good car.
