I went to have my hdi plugged in (scanned) by my friend, and to cut a long story short we couldnt get comunications with the ecu, everything works as it should in the car the only thing that isnt right is that the maf sensor is currently disconected! Any ideas?

It's not fully OBD2 compliant, so not every 'scanner' will work.

I have just found out we have peugeot planet! I take it that this is the one?

Peugeot planet will work fine, yes. (Providing you're using the correct cable)
