Right so my random dropping of spark on cylinder 1 and 4 is not cured!
Ive sent the ECU back to Omex for testing as it seemed like it could be a coil driver. They had it on their test rig all day at max coil dwell and just couldn't replicate it but replaced the drivers FOC anyway (if anyone is thinking of going for aftermarket management, go for Omex. The aftercare is fantastic!)
Ive fitted a new coil pack and it hasn't fixed it and belled out the loom and thats fine.
I did however notice that the coil pack is from a 1.8 XU which uses a 4 pin plug. 12v, ign1, ign2 and earth. Mine doesn't have an earth and never has had. The coil pack has earthing bars down to the bolts that hold it down yet on the 1.8, the 4th pin was in use with an earth directly to the head with a suppressor. Do we reckon its worth me adding one and can anyone see any issues this may cause?

I did get a belt off of one of the coil pack bolts the other day which sort of makes me think that it could be an earth issue if its finding a lesser path of resistance through me rather than the engine!

Does anyone have a 1.8 wiring diagram for me i can look at?

Cheers x
Is there not a wiring diagram in (my) haynes manual in your shed? Wink
Probably but thats out there and I'm in here!
Haha very fair point!
