hi how can I remove a hub nut iv got my brakes off and waiting for calipers to arrive due to replacing so cant put brakes on, iv tried with the wheel on and its just spinning on the ground so need other ideas please
Impact gun

Or get a fat person to sit on the wing with the wheel on the ground. Wink
lol I don't have a impact gun
What about a fat mate then? Wink

Not sure what else to suggest though!
Was it in gear when you had it on the ground?
Why do you need the hub not off to change the brakes?

Anyway car on the ground, chock all 4 wheels, handbrake on, in gear and a very long breaker bar (or extend it with a scaffold pole.)
Yeah as Dumdum said. Never fails for me.
Also to agree with Dum. Don't see how the wheel could spin that far of it was in gear and on the ground.
its not to do my brakes I never said it was lol my brakes are off and I should of undone the hub while brakes were on but I wanted it off to change cv gaitor but done it now I never had it in gear properly
Find old or spare wheel. Steel one. Bolt to hub best you can. Let the car down onto it. Handbrake on and undo it. Job jobbed

Or push the centre cap out of an alloy (except for clones)
Doesn't work with swallows either, 36mm impact socket doesn't fit through lol.

35mm Tongue
Yeah but who actually has a 35mm socket lol? I think we all make do with the 36.... lol
I have one! Correct tool for the job Tom!!! Lol I'm sure the extra 1mm saving would get into a swallow!!!
There's always one... Tongue

I always use the impact anyway lol, much less hassle lol.
Are you saying I'm the tool for the job by any chance lol

Not got an impact gun of my own so always end up using a breaker bar with a scaff bar extention, not had a problem yet
Haha, no I wasn't...but its funny how the same sentence can be perceived differently. lol

Tbh I bought a fairly cheap mains powered impact gun about 3 years ago, one of my best purchases tbh!

Nah I only have a 36mm too but I'm feeling a bit naughty now with the amount of people who have a 35mm so may go out and get one.

I can't believe your gun does hub nuts, 90% of the time mine won't touch them.
