How hard is the front section of the carpet to change, i read somewhere it's a possible dash out job?

No just the center console needs to come out mate.

what it is is this . . . . .there is like a bracket under the dash behind and under the ashtray which you need to remove, bit of a bitch, don't be gentle lol, done it twice now . .
