Lightning and hail - yes. A farm around 300m from my house was hit and our power went out and it's fried our router...

seen things like that before in scotland, we were in plain hot sunshine, when you looked over at the mountains maybe about 8miles away, you could see a full blown thunderstorm kickin off.
