So. Whos been a pikey with mods before. Ive got a set of clones sitting here in not great condition a can of paint on hammerite smooth and a brush. You can see where this is going...........

Anyonw else done sonething similar??

So the question now is. Dum dum have you ever done something similar?

Easier to ask what Dumdum hasnt done!

Just off the top of my head what dum dum has done:

Used a kitchen sieve as a air filter
cable tied a grill on
attempted to make his own set of ITBs using some silicone hoses
fitted an engine where the turbo hits the steering UJ and locks the steering on boost

And plenty more

A hahaha haven't heard of the bodies or steering rack before

Anyway in answer to the OPs question hammerite will be fine on wheels, I'd use spray but brush on will give a good enough finish if your not looking for show car quality. I wouldn't consider it pikey though as it is a brilliant paint for wheels (and brakes and engines and pretty much anything else.

Im not after a show finish just a reasonable finish. Might do the back of a wheel and see how it looks. Just on case

Clearly a garden sieve is more free-flowing that an air-filer. You would sieve your garden with an air filer now would you?!?!?

Oi don't you go knocking those I may have the exact same thing at the minute lol

That air filter in the pic was clogged and f*cked.
Made a world of difference with the wire.
I sacked off all of that later on and ran defiltered

Nice. Ill take a look. Still in two minds about painting them with a brush though. Even.if it is smooth

Do it with spray cans not a brush... itll be a nightmare and the spray hammerite isnt too expensive and gives a decent finish!

Had to use a bit of wire to hold my exhaust up when it snapped on the motorway, got some funny looks driving down to the next junction(my turn off anyway and only 1/2 mile) with sparks flying out the back. As soon as it went i knew what it was so just carried on the har shoulder at 60. Strapped it up to the beam and removed the back box, only left it like that for a few days.

I spent an hour cleaning the clones in the end then painted with a brush the inner bit as it was beyond help. They have cone up fairly ok to be fair.

I think.the black on the inside suits it. Its far from a show car but I I like to keep her tidy.

Done that with sideskirts and bottom part of front/rear bumpers on my old silver civic lol looked alright tbf
