Anyone give me tips on painting a 6 inlet manifold steps and paint type they used

thanks
mat
Clean it all up the best you can and then use etch primer and high temp paint.
Mine was just cleaned and sprayed with Simoniz high temp paint I think it was had a fair few coats though
cleaned mine with wirebrush in a drill, washed it off with brake cleaner, masked up the holes, primmed with halfords primmer, painted with halfords car paint, clear coated with halfords lacure
blasted and left as is is best.

That was a full de-grease, light sand with 800 wet, 1200 dry then 2 coats white etch primer and 3 coats Agri spec High temp gloss red.
Looking good. Wanna spray mine black. Where's everyone getting the pug badges to go on them from?
use a solvent to disolve the glue remove the badge then you can re fix it with some double sided sticky Wink
There's a guy that custom makes them, original, new colours, other designs etc. for 3 quid or something.

I painted one a while ago, but it turned out to be warped. :/

i've sprayed them in the past and also had them powdercoated. always been much happier with the powdercoated finish to be honest

Yeh if you can get it powdercoated then of course thats going to be a better longer lasting more durable finish!
only pain is when the coaters decide to leave all the bolt holes uncovered and you spend 2 hours unpicking coating from threads..

That is a very clean engine (fact). I better get to work with the soap then....
