coming on really, really well!
Another little update

Today some more bits arrived, and some more still haven't but hopefully they will this weekend as the bits I really want are the ones that haven't arrived !

Anyway I basically got half of everything I wanted lol
Got 1 of 2 drop links I ordered - come on euro car parts !
Did get both front brake lines
Got one of 3 engine mounts
Got 1 of 5 rolls of self amalgamating tape
Half of the studs I need to hold the inlet on - over half and exhaust ones still missing
And the new box for the fan relays arrived

Even if the other bits dont arrive tomorrow this should keep me busy for a while when the weekend comes Smile

Thanks mate, hoping to keep progressing at this speed!
Got a bit more done today.

Tidyied the loom up some more still trying to figure out 2 plugs sure they'll become obvious.

Then I fitted the isolator I got from my work for a live point in the engine bay. Obviously not wired in yet

Got bored of doing electrics and  started putting the exhaust manifold on which is pretty far from where the turbo is actually going to sit so needs chopping and welding.

Also stuck the indicators and one headlight it need a bracket clip thing for the other one.

Anyone recognise these plugs

1)

(I'm going solder cables together where crimps are once I know what it is)

2) - on the right, brown wire black plug

Not yet mate need to head over to the petrol station and use there jetwash
lol
Cool project bud. Looking a lot like mine haha! I'm trying to make mine just as clean!
How is it for rust under the rear seats?

Thanks for the kind words. Keeping it clean is a constant battle and it hasn't even got on the road yet !

Pretty good lifting the carpet hasn't revealed any but there's a nasty looking bit behind the drivers side rear card (probably where water was spilled topping up the rear washer bottle) and some of my mates tragic attempt at welding in the passenger side footwell to tidy up. On a whole is a pretty rust free motor though.
Got hold of a carpet off Paul (thanks again)

It was absolutely filthy, to the point I didn't like touching it!

So I took it to the local bp and gave it a jetwash off a and it came out like this. Sorry no before photos.

Not really that happy with it I decided to give it anither go with my jet wash and hung it up so the dirt could wash off better.

After that it came out looking like this, I'm pretty happy with it some car mats should hide anything too bad.

And iv ordered these custom made decals.

You're welcome, many years of accumulated mould, dirt and sick just for you

I forgot Greig threw up in that car.
We got to Alan_M's to drop off a gear box we'd collected and it was all sprayed down the car, I think some went inside

Lovely ! Explains why my dog was sniffing round it and trying to roll on it lol. Think iv got everything out of it now might give it another wash after you said that tho !

Possibly my favourite aftersales pitch ever lol
Very interesting read, I may be lifting a 205 soonto put a xud9 in. Have you used the 1.9 or the 1.8 box?
You can use any BE3 box you please. Dturbo 1.8/1.9, hdi etc
Worth noting that the diff has to be changed to suit 205 shafts though
Or cheat and swap the short shaft inner CV cup to a 306 item
So decided to paint the inside today
[Image: IMG_20150426_173344044_HDR_01.jpg]

Then finished off the exhaust manifold - had to use arc welder as my mig isn't exactly portable and won't run off my generator as its 3phase. Need to make a bracket to support the turbo.

Also used the arc welder to do tidy up a mess my mate made with a mig. Not that nice but will do the job. Photo is halfway through I ran a bead all the way round after this and ground it all smooth before painting it. The welding on the otherside looks okay so I left it alone

I mocked up a route for the intercooler piping

Also painted some more bits but didn't take any photo's
Going to order the silicone piping new at some stage to tidy up the look of it.
What do you guys recon all blue and silver to go with silver and blue engine or black and silver for subtly?
Show it all off, get the blue and chrome.
Why not, you spent ages making the bodywork look good, should match under the bonnet, no?

Can you not find a xantia or other inlet dude? Inlet adapters are a bit pony.
I have one if you would like. Pm if you are interested.
Yeah show it off. You've worked hard why not have to agree with Danny on this. Also get a xantia Mani. Less places to have a boost leak as well.

Haven't really been looking for a xantia inlet but one would tidy it up, PM sent. Body work still isn't how I want it to be yet but starting to wonder if I'm fighting against conditions that I can't beat mainly being outdoors rather than a dust free spray shop.

Thanks this has made up my mind i'll go with blue and chrome.
Did a bit of this
[Image: IMG_20150502_162904096.jpg]
Got confused with the hoses so gave up and took the dash out. Rad is only temporary.

Going to scrapyard tomorrow to study XUD coolant hose routes and get more coolant hose.

In other news I dropped my injectors off to get rebuilt ,should be done Tuesday, iv order some new underlay to go in hopefully 7mm is thick enough, probably some more stuff but I forget.
Done some more to the car now the wiring is near enough completed.

Have decided to run both the washers off the bottle in the boot allowing me to get rid of the one in the engine bay, so have ran a cable for that.

Layer down all new underlay, then put the vomit red carpet down and fitted the seats so interior is looking pretty good now.

Also changed part of the interior loom so as the rev counter should hopefully work
Looking good mate Smile
(17-05-2015, 09:23 PM)Paul_13 Wrote: [ -> ]Looking good mate Smile

Thanks Smile, you should like the interior as its basically your old one

Also forgot to mention injectors are now in and leak off pipes, the coolant hoses are also all done now (apart from a bit of a bodge I'll sort out once its running)

Waiting on 10mm ID steel fuel lines once those are on it'll be time for a first start pretty soon
10mm flow and 7/8mm return lines you need
10mm borh ways shouldn't cause any issues though ? As that's what iv ordered I can change it still though.
The connection onto the fuel pickup is 10mm & 8mm, clips under the car will only clip 1 x 10mm and 1 x 8mm line
the return banjo on the pump is 8mm
