I'm going to install my sub/amp into the car. I previously had run it under the wing through the door wiring rubber grommet then under the carpet. How ever I would much prefer running it straight into the car and not through the door. Is there a hole in the bulkhead for the wire to go in?
I used the air con drain bung....sits just behind the gearbox on the bulkhead
i just stuck a drill through just under the glovebox, then run it all the way under the carpet at the side Smile
do it from the engine bay side though lol
Run it under the car and through a bung in the boot. Cable armour is cheap as chips from like maplins and shit

Got a picture of where this is?

This. I paid £5 for 10 metres of it from screwfix. Mine has been there years now and never had any issues
Where's the argument for under the car when you've got to run all the other cables anyway? I don't get what you're gaining?
Aye but really 12v line and sound shouldnt run next to each other, no matter how well shielded you think they are

Less chance of chafing, less work, neater, probably a shorter run when you take into account all the bends etc in the cabin, less chance of damage from daily use (e.g people moving seats back and forth), less chance of any interference on the RCA leads.
pull the door seals up, remove B pillar, lift carpet, run wires, forget they're there Smile
Drilled 2 holes for 2 runs of 4 awg in passenger foot well easy then took out passenger seat then cam out under rears jobs a good Un no problems with it no leaks ect and is easy enough 2 hide or remove if needed just fuse at both ends then run rcas the same under drivers side takes longer 2 pull out seats but proper job

Why fuse it at both ends? Just fuse it as close to the battery as possible.
And theres nothing not 'proper job' about running it under the car.
Sorry mate I didn't mean 2 offend it don't really matter where it's run just letting the guy know what worked for me iv just always fused at both ends because I normally have at least 2 battery's im just anal like that

No offence taken. Just always curious to hear other peoples reasons! Smile

You only need 1 fuse though. Your not getting any extra protection by having two and intact, might just cause you're self more hassle as a fuse is always a weak point (obviously, its their job!) and some times they do just go! Obviously just fuse it as close to the battery connection as possible as anything before the fuse is not protected.
2 battery's my friend 1 at each end or normally use a distribution block due 2 multiple amps u went for 2 runs of 4awg as I found it easier 2 hide than 0 awg due 2 going under the carpet at the time I was running 4 10 in subs from a power acoustik a 3000db and vibe qb 6s and a pair of jl components from a jl 600/4 so voltage drop was an issue I definitely made a noise but I always go for sound quality then quantity happen lol ill dig out sone old pics if u wanna have a Lil look niall
my amp lead is fused at both ends and it also run under the car cable tied to the brake lines then inthrough the grommet under the rear bench
battery end has one fuse boot end has a dis block with two fused outlets this hides under the shelf under the rear bench seat Wink

This is what ill be doing with mine seeing as the hole and bung is already there.
So the bung is under the rear seat? Easy to get to?
Bung is in the boot

not if you have an estate Wink
Pressumably you guys are running this down the passenger side of the car? How are you securing it to the underside, with intermediate zip ties or something?
cable ties FTW its the french standard way Wink
I have always drilled through the bulkhead and run the cable through the car.

yeah me too, seems the shortest most logical route to me but each to their own Smile
I moved my battery closer, made it way easier to run the amp live.
Air con bung for me.

Power one side, rca's the other and speaker cable up the middle.

My hu is a 9855r which is 4v so I never have an issue with noise and my amps are old school precision power for my sub and alpine for mids/tops and set up properly so I enjoy nice clean sound out my focals up front and my champion series sub
I usually went through aircon bung ran across the passenger side. Then the rca and remote through the middle. Easily done with a coat hanger.

Can't do this any more, it's now an MOT failure.. 'unsecure wiring'
