All suggestions have been taken onboard but on local searches of autotrader, eBay and Gumtree I can't find many that are worth a look - I saw some cars today that looked good in the pics but a mongrel in real life Sad

Saw a fantastic 306today with an indoor swimming pool, only 700 lol
Yeah I'll be honest, at your price point, a 1.6HDi could be an utter disaster... They have quite a few well documented problems... I'd stick with a non dpf 2.0 8v HDi, much more reliable, not as good on fuel, but you'll save your money elsewhere.
Cheers Ruan, I have decided to walk away from 1.6 pug hdi's.

Looking for 2:0 hdi's in various guises and fords instead
oh so now the god of diesel Ruan speaks....and he doesnt like the 1.6hdi!!! Tongue

I like the 1.6HDi, but that's not to say it's not without problems after a couple of hundred thousand... They're well documented problems and if they've not been meticulously looked after, they're VERY likely to have problems sadly.
Terrible things. Check all the electrics. Carl chambers has one with 34K on it and the electrics are ruined so it was written off!
I didn't view this is the end, horror stories put me off Smile

See my other thread about the focus, after reading that thread I'm lost at what car to buy Sad. May go Perv Sad
