Ok so lets have a quick update. Movement on this slowed down due to splitting up with my partner and then on a consistant bad note i managed to crash the slag. This was my own fault and luckily no one was hurt. Only casuality was my cars front end.

So lets recap.
Cars now fitted up with an r70 fuel pump. Had a few issues with the britle fuel housing as im sure many of the hdi lads here have encounted. Shes now on and found the car ran alot better tho im still not mapped up.
Began getting rid of the yellow in the bay as just think it looked childish.[Image: bf935fffb32bb6cb6dd46e83af175480.jpg]
Had a play around with spraying the brembos and had to flare the front arches massive amounts!
[Image: da5d0f009f0d2200bc08c66c83704e48.jpg][Image: ffbe6e7b7f7768ee3dcf787f190033de.jpg]
So then onto the smash. Usually store my breaker bar under my car seat and the sod slid out without me realising under the brake pedal. Old boy stopped to turn in front of my and -SMASH- 40Mph rear end into him. Paid to have his berlingo checked out but turned out my car recieved full impact. The old lad was understanding that i wanted to keep it away from insurance as it would make it expensive for me again.
Damage on my car consisted of bent slam panel, cracked headlights, cracked fiberglass grill, cracked bumper. In true fashion ive sorted this in about a week. Lucky its only rattle canned hey?
[Image: 2eaf26f3c781cd2d3187476254274cba.jpg][Image: d5eccbe3117f82b208c604220258836b.jpg][Image: 015599aa11ebd0bf215847dd202018f4.jpg][Image: 2749435240cfce790f7be082aab43b42.jpg][Image: f068dafa6cc673a0a82d896e8d1b0bbc.jpg]
Still havnt got the grille finished but its practically there now [Image: 25bedf3770ca6594295c15647f4f94d0.jpg][Image: 6827b200ea8a962d209388e4748c7c8e.jpg][Image: f0d28af64096727298ed217829bdcdf3.jpg][Image: a045c14b1ea1e4b634cd027ab084fafe.jpg][Image: c3b4078905b9b2dac5bff590d7f166a6.jpg]
And obv to anyone on fb ive been doing some more bay details again [Image: 0ed90ae02012d055128f0e7050d4dc94.jpg]

So back too today. Still waiting on new wheel studs to get that sorted so in the mean time finished wrapping my exhaust [Image: 669443c727a877af44bbb7812b9be6ec.jpg][Image: f4da9301770c723a4be4918f2ac0f61a.jpg]
And got the new plates and surrounds on [Image: a4d3072814448ec4954c871cd8937baa.jpg]

Pins 1 & 2 need swapping from memory

Hdi tuning!
Cheers. Having mega problems with the lead :/

You get one end of the yellow plug and un clip the clip and you can remove the wires
I mean the mpps. It wont recognise the lead and cant find the drivers

Oh, have fun with that. Device manager and fiddle from there is my advice
Well that sucked balls. Fps fitted and loom modded but laptop wasnt gonna play ball. Aggys had to take it away and will let me know later if he can get it sorted

That's looking really smart, especially the engine bay. The solid colour is letting it down a bit imo though, needs a bit of shine or something, maybe go two-tone...?
Well put the stage 3 map on yestoday and fitted the sensor today and shes been dead as a door nail. Put herself into limp mode. Fitted the stock sensor back and she ran like she was stage 2. [Image: b7b549700344c61e87d5ad060a8ca0f7.jpg]
Im really hoping jamma pic has made an honest mistake here. To say non the least im not pleased but hopefully he will get back to me an this will be rectified!

Also found a small hole rubbed in a boost pipe that needs welding up tommorow [Image: c6f03b9b854b8e8ad25df8ca6fff755a.jpg]

Engine bay does look good.....still cringe a little at that air filter/heat hoover
That filter is fine imo, although I'd personally make an aluminium heat shield to put underneath and to the engine side of it, then cold air feed off the stock trumpet.

Ive been looking at a few different options as she heat soaks like a mofo

Well thats the final bits before nats done [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] pqinted the face up and just sprayed the box because im sick of looking at it dirty. Considering it was sprayed in place its come out pretty well, just did it in the same hamme effegt as my wheels [Image: 48eec8e09d5062034bc58a6fb3023551.jpg]

Why do people shit themselves about heatsoak on turbocharged cars?, is that not what the intercoolers there to sort out?

yeh but why not do simple things to improve things further?
if the actual few degrees difference you're gonna see are causing a problem I would personally say the intercooler is not convecting heat effiently enough and would need upgrading, I'm not saying it would hurt at all I just don't see it as being an issue

The turbo will have to work harder to provide the same airflow and pressure at a higher intake temperature, plus manifold temperatures will be up a touch. Less power, less reliability, why wouldn't you sort a heatshield lol.
Right so fcs...
Ended up being a hellish journey on the way. If it wasnt polo's burning out on the m25 it was the car playing up. I mean you know traffics bad when you can watch the whole of inglorious barstards on your phone [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]
So the two major problems i had were also pretty minor. Mbc pipe managed to riggle loose and drag its arse on the floor. Luckily there was plenty to cut down to do a fix
[Image: a7300fb476b385b65a2668f58ca8ac7a.jpg]
And managed to blow the boost pipe off the turbo 3 miles from combe [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] sods law but fixed it up the next morning.
Was surprised the driveshaft held but tbh it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be so packing a spare was prob playing it over safe.
Was also pleased, its no secret i couldnt get the brembos to fit in the end so ended up swappingbthem for somthing ive been wanting for a while and couldnt afford. [Image: b2ec7ab4d8a80268b2a96b556d04f56e.jpg]
Full set of spax rsx coilovers with rose jointed top mounts [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] all the lockrings are free, no play in the shafts or signs of leaking, key for the adjustable rebound is present too. So couldnt be happier with that deal as cant afford this setup new at all! Hopefully i can still re-coupe some money selling my setup whats currently fitted.
Daft question tho.. what will be better rear dampers, my gaz golds or these spax?

Heres a random pic of the shed at fcs too for good measure [Image: be3953b620cd46cc1f6d8be15951a66f.jpg]
Haha and appologize if i covered anyone in soot at fcs... said before im a born and bred hooligan [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND COLD SWEAT]

Ok so the strut top mounts it seems dont fit. First problem is that they are running m10 bolts and not m8 like the oem spec turret tops [Image: a739596d4709bb8ff373297318bfd5d7.jpg]
Second problem is that none of the holes line up either. Believe these may be early compbrake mounts which had lots of people scratching there heads in the past. (I know there offered up to the strut brace here and not the turrets but the witness marks give a very clear indication of where the bolts seat) [Image: 92baa5d0e39a2fb853fb4b2833596be3.jpg][Image: d9a4e4396941add6a2bf6cc214304374.jpg][Image: 688abfb8658698ff04d849a11df28b2d.jpg]

Ok so looking at this ive got one of two options. Re-drill and work with what ive got or buy baker bm top mounts.
Trying to keep costs down so opting for the redrill aproach. Saying this i would also like to stick to the oem mount pattern so that returning stock is always an option.
Im not aiming to add caster or camber here, I strictly want these to add more strentgh to the front end so im attempting to have these as close to the stock position as poss. To make sure everything is symmetrical im bolting these back to back aswell.
So today at work im going to drill and tap a single hole to give myself a refrence point on the car and see how it sits before drilling the other holes.

Because of the amount of clearance the spax coilovers give aswell i'll be winding bolts in from the underside of the mounts to give myself studs to bolt too. Simply i dont trust ali threads, also running ali with stainless bolts will cause them to oxidise and aggressivley "weld" themselfs together so this will make removal easier aswell.

this was his car he smoothed it and painted it himself. he then got the cabby but later had a fatal crash in it. sad times he was a great guy
Shit car looked seriously on point too 😟

Managed to tap the top mounts all out today. Friend lent me his omp strut brace as a template for drilling. Just hoping these sit correct. Heres a pic of a standard top mount
[Image: 5ea855c7b0b43f5a1e6d196859875e8c.jpg][Image: 633d7d5575707cab701d0a762b00b28e.jpg]
Vs. The position of how ive drilled these out. [Image: 9a2b0e019af4bc8d1053fcbafaf0a3b3.jpg] theres roughly 10mm difference from the oem position facing towards the engine so hoping this will add very mild negative camber tho i hadnt much choice where to drill the holes.

Threaded the bolts in from the bottom for added strentgh too as dont trust alloy threads
