Just got a quote for £120 for a clutch fit if I supply the clutch, is that good? My first car so not sure how much this normally is Smile
Yeah, that's pretty good to be honest.
That sounds good tbh when I shopped around cheapest quote I got was £120 but tbh I would just do it my self now as not that hard just time consuming, but if your no good with scanners get it to garage, just make sure you get a decent quality clutch you don't wanna be doing it again Wink

Sweet, I'll have to get it done by them at the end of the month then Smile

I would do it myself but I have nothing to put the car in the air and I would need help to be honest, and I'm getting a Valeo clutch from Euro Car Parts Smile
Thats a really good price if you dont have many friends in the trade.

Yeah I thought it was very reasonable, the garage is called 24/7 Auto repairs
Yeah 120-140 is what we charged, or 160 if it was a subframe job like mondeo or vectra etc

Sounds spot on then Smile would you guys recommend the Valeo clutch?
You'll be wanting some gearbox oil too, unless that comes in with the fitting.

I'll have to get some, is it worth replacing the clutch cable as well?
May as well do the cable too if it's old, should give you a nicer pedal. Might want to change the fork bushes in the gearbox while it's off, as well.

Will have a look into it Smile where can I get the fork bushes from?
Peugeot Smile.

I'll have to pop in after work Wednesday Smile
Probably best to give them a ring, as I very much doubt they'll have them in stock... Might want to jot down your chassis number first, as they tend to say the reg isn't enough on stuff like that.

Ah okay Smile where can I find the chassis number?
Under the bonnet, above your PAS fluid reservoir.

Thanks Smile I'll check it tomorrow

Oddly enough mine did!
Only one of the seals they had to order in for next day.

Part numbers are around the forum somewhere...

I found the part numbers for the two bushes. 2175 21 and 2175 20, I'm presuming these are right I googled the bushes and this came up on the gti6 forum

They can get the VIN from the reg, I've watched my local do it a few times. Maybe yours are just lazy lol.

As for the price, it seems fair tbh! Smile
I paid £400 back in 2010 to get a clutch changed but that was including the clutch and bushes. Even if you supply the clutch that is a very good price.
That's right for a HDi, can't be sure for a 1.4 would have to servicebox it up.
Looks like the 1.4 box is different. I'd call them to confirm Smile

Your box is different to the gti6 one. You need 2175 12 and 2175 11. Smile

Thanks mate that's helped a lot Smile
No worries, Im getting pretty quick with servicebox now. lol
Yep thats a decent price. I would love to pay that instead of wasting mine and Toms time doing it ourselves!
You'd rather pay £120 than spend 2 days laying under a 306 and a night at my Nans? Don't believe you. Tongue

I thought it was cheap to Smile gonna give them another call tomorrow to see how much extra it would be to get the clutch cable and bushes done at the same time. I would love to try change it myself but don't know if anyone close by could help

When you say two days you mean six weeks right? :p
