Anyone know the going rate for scrap prices at the moment?
I phoned parents up earlier to learn dad is scrapping his car tomorrow, it's a 2 tonne Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.3L 6 cylinder auto with chrome alloy wheels, electric rear doors, heated seats, 8 speaker surround and lpg conversion. The price he's getting for it...

£90!..
I could have sworn cars were worth more than that! I told him to break for parts before scrapping but he hasn't got time so I offered him £100 so I can break it myself but he doesn't want it on the driveway hanging about until I can get back from uni.
Well its not much tbh. The ebay reserve on my estate was scrap value, didn't see exact value but it was under £120!
It was £122 for a 306 with alloys from Silverlake when Matt looked yesterday.
Scraps on its arse

Was £120 a ton a month ago

Down to £95
Mmmm seems a bad time to scrap then

It's silverlake who's offered him £90
So they've offered him less than a tonnes worth Sad He nearly left the replacement starter motor and alternator in there until I said at least try and ebay them

Think they're having a giraffe...
Wow, silverlake you ...heads. I've text mum telling her dad's being mugged off
gone down again varies in areas, getting £100 here but if prepared travel 45 mins or so can get £140 last time i went, but not worth going unless its more than a shell for ballache
£75 a tonne in Taunton. Pretty low at the moment
£100 a ton round here, that big yank bus should be £200 easy? He'd get £300 for the LPG kit, if it was single point (which I doubt it will be) I'd make an offer!
Well it's gone, what a waste. Really quite peeved at my dad right now and at silverlake
Like you said liam the lpg conversion would have been worth something, it cost him £1500 about two years ago
That's terrible, might as well just throw money in the bin.

Scrap is on its arse, sub £100 a tonne but still you'd hope for at least £150 for that bus. Scrap prices tend to be best in the south east too.
It's always less aswell if they collect
