Dont know if i imagined it or not but as a cheaper way of lowering can 106 gti front struts be used on a 306 and if so how much would they lower it by ?
Springs, not struts.

And it may be cheap but not suitable or safe

Yee can imagine they arent the best just thought id ask
Lowering springs on gti shocks come up on here for £30-50 for a pair...so its not worth trying to save a tenner
Just do it properly mate. No point messing around with parts which arent meant for the car.
why this is hear could i put the springs off my 106 (eibach -30mm) on to the 205?
Same thing dood...just do it properly
Using 106 springs on 205's is common enough, although it's usually only on the lighter TU models.

With a diesel engine 205 you're going to need different springs though - even standard 205 GTi springs lower diesels a fair amount (indeed, it works quite well coupled with a GTi spec beam and is how I ran my old 205 STDT).

I would imagine that 106 or 205 springs on a 306 would be far too low and the spring rates badly mis-matched.

106's and 205's are broadly similar weight wise, whereas a 306 is much heavier.
