Hi all.

Picked up my new 306 hdi at the weekend from Liverpool and drove it back home to Cornwall.

I noticed that the coolant temperature was running at approximately 70-72 degrees.
I thought this was a little low but thought I would ask other users to see what they say Smile

Thanks!
Should be around 80 degrees give or take - I'd stick a new thermostat in and go from there Smile
Thats too low, should sit at ~80, needs a new thermostat.

Daft question, but were you looking at the gauge dead on? Because from the drivers psosition it can look lower than it is, especially if you sit quite far forward.
Yeah that was my thought. New stat will be going on then Smile

Haha I did look at the gauge square on and was reading between 70-72. I sit quite far back as I'm quite tall and looks the same.
Mine had the same mike.

Dropped a new stat in it and been spot on since!
Ideal Smile. Know what I'll need to add to the list now then ha!
My gauge reads 73-75ish°C and OBD Torue App reads 80°C

^ new stat and coolant in there
Look at the gauge square-on (so your head down by the left of the steering wheel) and it should look closer to 80, mine does. This is what i meant up there ^^^ completely daft design by peugeot.
Just sit in the passenger seat when checking your coolant temp.
Mine does the same 70 to 72. Would upping the temp get better fuel economy? Let's add a stat to my list of new parts to fit to my "cheap" estate.
Yeah sat in all the possible angles to get it square on and its definatly sitting at 70 so new stat is on its way Smile
Lol sorry, that was aimed at tigerstyle.

L33dwc, theoretically a higher temp stat should increase the efficiency, iirc the one from a 307 hdi is the equivalent 90* stat, is a straight fit.
