I don't know much about Golfs but surely this is not worth this much!?!?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-G60-Ra...6126477%26

Is nice though
Cant see it selling with such a shit advert though!
It'll sell, they're rare as fook nowadays. It was 207bhp back in 1990, that was Cosworth territory.
I dunno iv seen the mk2 rally's advertised at some silly prices in the past, I wouldnt be surprised if some vag bummer bought it for somewhere near that
TBF they are pretty rare and that one is almost original so some VAGjayjay will have it.

That said have you seen the mk3 golf they have advertised http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-1-8-Pe...mobiles_UK Nearly 2 grand! Ive seen better ones scrapped.

That is one of the least inspiring cars ever made, how they sold any is beyond me when you compare to a mk2.
The Rallye has always commanded a high price, such a rare car that it never depreciated like the other Golfs.

Rarer still the 16v Mk2 Rallye, only a handful of those ever left the factory.

There seems to be quite a few of these people pop up on eBay, taking an older car, polishing the shit out of it and then pricing it at double or treble what the market value actually is.

In the case of that golf it's clearly a sub 500 shitter, it's a 1.8 auto, left-hooker - about as un-desirable a car as you can get. At 75K miles it's not exactly low mileage either.
It's low for the age, but it's still pretty high.
Sounds about right for a golf rallye :S
Fair enough. Never realised they fetched so much!
yeh they are really rare cars.

Ah yes it only had 8V not 16V in that one. I remember now.

Were you thinking of the Golf Limited? I'd f*cking love one of those! All my favourite things on a mk2, 16v, G60, Syncro, small bumpers, heated leather, single light grille, BBS rims, 5 doors...
It will sell if someone wants it that bad! You all said my car would only make £600 it sold for £970! To the right person they pay, if they want it that much! every car is worth more to certain people.
i like it :/
That I was, right cars but got the engines mixed up. I will join the dark side shortly. ninja
Like the look of the mk2,owned a mk1 for a bit.The GTI was not really quick enough for me and the G60 has a jetta front end which i dont like so probably will never own either.
Also VAG slags are geigh.
mind a lot of 80s and 90s old hardware are starting to jump up, since the bright idea of the scrappage scheme,
Not a big fan of VW in general but I do have a soft spot for the MK2 Golfs, that being the top! I'd say it's worth that sort of money not what I would pay for one though as my pockets are not that deep.
