Alternator issues, when driving the aux belt starts to slip/squeel, and the lights dim, at idle the lights sort of flicker, as the alternators charging, at 1500rpm it evens it self out so the light dont flicker. My question is really, the battery light has never been on whilst engine is running so im guessing that it means that its charging, but i cant work out the squeel, had new belt, bottom pulley, still squeels. Any ideas???
Did you put a new sprung tensioner on when you changed the belt and pulley?
No i didnt but the belt seems tight enough, i wonder if the alternator is giving up because its done 160000 miles, ill try putting a new one on before i get a alternator.
