Hi all!

Just thought I'd intro meself ere'
I picked up my first pug yesterday...
306 Meridian Estate 2.0 HDi (W Plate)

The mileage is high, but the service history, body condition and mech's all sound (Well as good as you can expect for 180k) and look good. In fact I have yet to find a spot of rust on her!

I normally run a Legnum VR4, the same type as PugMe on here as well.
Over the last five month's I've run a Mazda 323f, Merc 250TD.
Now I have had in the past the citroen version of this lump in a C5

I'll get some pics up as soon as.
Now Im sure that I'll have some standard Q's later on like...

How the F*CK do you change the oil filter? but yeah different thread!

oil filter:

slide oil catch tray under engine.
undo oil filter....may need oil filter strap/wrench if tight
remove oil filter

I meant how do you get to it? Do you have to remove the header tank or from underneath?

Jack it up and go from underneath . Still a PITA to get at though i find ripping out the air con helps lol

Its pretty easy n obvious to be honest...

I like servicing hdis n xuds coz the oil filte is so easy to get to...
unlike a LOT of othet cars

Its right on the front of the block isn't it?

Does remind me though, thats something else i REALLY need to get round to.

Then header tank you can just pull it out the way. I always find smashing a screw driver through it is much easier than using strap wrench. But yeah its fairly easy just abit tight.

The dturbo I had for a bit was just as easy apart from it had seized on and snapped my screw driver

A screw driver isnt as good for putting the new filter on tho kent. Tends to be abit leaky

should never needa tool to refit the oil filter...hand tight only

Na i always crank it with abit of rope now. Had two oil filters on two cars leak doing them hand tight.

This!! Mine had no air con, still not tons of room but enough to get at from above!

Welcome - i've 1.4 so my experiences with oil filters won't be of much use to you...
