Erm...got into my car after the 2inches of rain last night to find this:

Now I have a few things on my list of interior improvements...but a pond isnt one of them

Seems to be coming from the door seal which was FULL of water!?

but then I also noticed this:

which is a few drips of water from the steering column shrouding.
Got me confused as above the shrouding is dry, the roof lining is dry, round the windscreen is dry!?

I am going to pop in another door seal as I have a spare and hope that does it...just gota dry the sod out now Angry
Your door seal is full of crap needs blowing out with an air line. The colum id say os the bottom of the widscreen leaking under the dash.

or heater matrix Tongue
how can water go up and into the steering column though...weird.

righto...well may just swap the door seals for now.
Its that special french water that runs up hill
I've got similar but on the passengers side. No sign of where it is coming from but it's like a fecking lake in there after heavy rain.
Did you shut the door hard? Might have splashed water from the seal onto the shrouding and not actually be anything to do with the leak! Confused
most likely that your door drain holes are blocked up and the membrane between the doorcard and the door is damaged, damaged door seals do not cause this much water to enter.

most likely explanation of water on the steering column shrouds is splashing from you getting in, or if you have a sunroof that the drains are blocked and its spilling over inside somewhere.
Could it be the matrix maybe.
as already said its not the matrix.
the matrix is central...not in the drivers door.

also drain holes in the door wont cause this issue.

as it turns out there is a little gap on bottom window edge by the wing mirror...this is I guess a design fault as its same on all 306s.
with heavy rain it drips down onto back of speaker and then inside...but only, if like me, you no longer have the door sound/rain seal.
popped bit of plastic all sealed around speaker hole and its all fine
