Looking to plan a trip down to Le Mans 24hr next year. Anyone that has been before will know how much of an awesome weekend it is, copious amounts of alcohol and screaming engines for 4 days.
In 2014 the actual race will be held over the 14th&15th of June, however there is the qualifying on the Thursday&Friday, so would be looking as usual to go down on the Thursday morning.

Prices are extremely reasonable, they offer packages that include your ferry crossing, tickets & camping tickets all in one.
To give you an example:
2 people sharing 1 car - dover to calais return with 2 race tickets and 2 camping passes = £169 per person

Prices for individual tickets aren't available yet from anything I can find - but from memory are about £65-70.

From Calais it's about a 3 hour drive to Le Mans, with plenty of good scenery and beautiful cars on the drive down.

It's a properly good weekend and I couldn't recommend going enough!

So in true style, a list..

Vaughan where do we book tickets? Was thinking last night and there is no real outlay for me at all so I'll buy the tickets asap.
Currently you have to call them, online bookings open up some time later in the year usually.

Its an amazing weekend, we went last year for my stag do.

Wont be going next year tho as Im heading to the Alps with the mountain bike again.
just looks at the site. Looks like a pretty good few days! Im happy to take 2 passengers in the comfort of the love ceed (although i think Scott has sort of shotgunned one of them seeing as he can share the drive Tongue )
Shotgun with complimentary reach around?
sounds good man. Derv should only come in at £30 each if we have a leisurely drive there

Did consider taking the 6 for some epic french roads but june in france....hot. f*ck having no aircon!
Fair. Ill set aside £30,000 once we've found a local pub.
The more of you in one car the cheaper it works out. After the initial 2, each extra person is £79 so split the total cost between you and works out much cheaper
yeah but the boot on the kia is fairly small. Doubt i could fit 4 in and luggage. Unless i take the tent palace and get a roof box lol
Potentially well up for this!
Niall, Can i come in the love Cee'd? Tongue

I'll go in the roofbox. just cut me a section of perspex in the front, and a little slit through which I can mount a machine gun.... i'll pack the bomber jacket and the flying goggles Tongue

????

You can mate but we will definitely need a roof box so if anyone knows of one we can borrow, let me know!
I think my dad has one actually... I'll ask! It's a proper aero-catched streamlined race-rack though Tongue

Thats alright. Will go well with my aero bars Tongue

Btw did someone say stop for duty free on the way back? lol
lol YES!
Hold on, I better have a seat
Sorry Vaughan, you were too late to shot gun a space. If someone drops out, you can have backup shotgun.
Looks like I'll be having a lonely journey down by myself then!
Nah f*ck that. find someone else. Sure other people will be joining in on this as it seems a epic weekend for not too much money!
