Full Version: Ticking injectors power loss?

My injectors are properly loud, need to sort something out soon. But I have noticed when going over 3100rpm when the tapping stops, the car feels completely different, smoother mainly.

Does anybody else notice this or does it mean my injectors are in a real bad way?
The tick sound is the pre injection and it doesn't pre inject after 3.1k.

Mine have got loader since going stage one so I bought some newer model injectors.
All hdi have ticky injectors between 2-3k
Either new injectors, refurbish or a set of low milers from a 307 hdi.
I need to get 076 injectors?
I bought a set of eBay for the grand total of £40 with delivery Smile
The ones on my old hdi sounded like bloody machine gun fire lol
I was wondering this same phenomenon!

So will 307 injectors give more power, economy, or just refinement?
Straight fit with no messing with the fuel rail?
Adam, the 076 injectors are ever so slightly better in terms of the tolerances. It's so slight you wouldn't notice any improvements on power or economy over a set of the originals at the simulare milage.

Take a look here http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-5399.htm...=injectors
Deeturbo, mind me asking where you've got that information from, about the tolerances? No offence, but i see an awful lot of info like that around the net, it usually turns out to be nothing but rumour. Just trying to sort the wheat from the chaff, as it were. Smile
076 injectors are built different to reduce the tick i believe they are made to a better tollerance with different internals
when i did my reserch this came up alot from bosch dealers websites
I'm not sure where I read it now sorry. It was on forum somewhere but can't remember where.

I think someone said that the 076 injectors were made using different tooling with finer tolerances. I'll try and find out where I read it.
i said something simaler to that in the thread that was quoted Wink
Fair enough, cheers, will have to look into that. Smile
