Yesterday, i noticed something strange, when i press the clutchpedall the brakelights come on.

Is this a ground problem?

thx in advance
what happens if you press the brakes?

could be the plugs the wrong way round
the brake lights are activated via a switch behind the pedal though?

Well aware of this mate, I meant the switches on the pedals as im sure some pugs have a clutch switch too
Some 306s also have q clutch pedal switch. Check you haven't plugged the brake lights into that.
hmm never knew there was a clutch switch; what is it used for?

ECU things
I have the same problem on my ZX. Basically as you press the clutch it moves the arm which the brake pedal is also bolted too and puts the brake lights on. Its so stiff that it actually moves the brake pedal enough so that the brake switch isn't making contact.
Hmmm when i brake the brakelights light up.... when i clutch... its not alway blinking the brakelight... but somethng definately isnt right here...

I hate problems like this
The HDi has a clutch switch but I didn't think the petrols did as well? It's used so the ecu can match the revs for a smoother gear change when the clutch is pressed, but the petrols aren't FBW throttle so no need for a clutch switch as I understand?
Sounds like Anton's got it then, get some grease on that pedal box.
Or get your hand on the brake light switch and adjust it. I was having this problem, had to move the switch a smudge as the flex of the pedal box was enough to break contact.
Mines fully adjusted and still has about a 5mm gap haha
Hmm ill inspect it this weekend Wink
