Yes I'll give you pictures of the engine tonight. I was not quite understood your messages, but hey it does not matter lol. For motor configue is:
Turbo 1.5b origin
Bosch pump changed
Exchanger in frontage
306td box
Home line diameter 60
I want a meter gro turbo without much mod. You advise me?

I think only way to upgrade your turbo is to go gearbox mounted...theres almost no room already for the standard turbo!
have you thought about a hdi gearbox?!

how much clearance is there between the top of the engine and the bonnet?
18-06-2013, 07:00 PM
you can fit another turbo...but cant increase in size much...
perhaps a more efficient one like a gt1752

He has the metal inlet not plastic so has more clearance
18-06-2013, 07:29 PM
^^^ they look identical!?
18-06-2013, 07:33 PM
ah good point, the plastic one is actually fairly chunky looking at it now

Black bumpers are win against the white strangely

It barely goes. There's 1-2 cm.

Ok thank you for the info. I will anyway try to install a TD04.

thing is with the td04, it likes big end revs....really works 3500+...but the 2.1 doesnt like the high end rpm like the xud9, mainly due to the rockers it has!
you will find a gt1752 or similar will give you the needed mid range punch!
18-06-2013, 10:46 PM
That said.. there was that 200+hp 2.1 that revved to 6k+ no problem in the couch a little while back
19-06-2013, 06:19 AM
yeah I remember that...
just realised nlp77 that your steering joint will be by the gearbox....which gives you more room behind the engine for a turbo than us here with right hand drive...
so a bigger turbo should fit behind there!

Although saying that, the standard turbo on an xud11 is quite a tight fit in a 306 bay.....
19-06-2013, 08:17 AM
....yeah but theres no room to go down or move it etc coz of the steering rack and UJ.....he doesnt have that issue

Ok, thank you very much for the info, that's nice. Will you give me the references of the turbo that will adapt better to my engine?
Yes we were more space than you, but we must anyway cut a cross on the case for the original trubo past.

Nice motor there and welcome to the club
Pipe routing is similar to mine, going past the chassis leg, makes it look much tidier.
I personally prefer the d turbo front end though rather than the black bumpers.

Looks to be a serious pov spec diesel like 1993 1994 spec maybe even a straight diesel previously.

for ref Im now running a gearbox mounted GT2056s...
it is a perfect match imo for the 2.1
currently close to 5second 30-70 in 3rd with hdi box and its spinning up the wheels in 3rd gear now in the damp...and thats just at 1.3bar
